How do you guys make AAC encoded files run? Will AAC trigger DTS or DD on my receiver? Whenever I play AAC encoded files my receiver only detects it as PLII C. I'm running audio through SPIF and it's set to RAW. If I put it on dualPCM it will detect audio but it's not 6 channels.

Also, if I play standard definition files I don't get audio through the receiver unless I change the settings from RAW to dual channel PCM. Do I really need to change the settings everytime I switch between files with different audio codecs?

AAC is a audio codec on it's own in the same way DTS is different from Dolby.

If you set the output to RAW, you need a receiver that can decode it which is very rare. So what is happening on your setup is that it's being downmixed to Stereo hence you see PLII.

You can grab this test clip from this thread to help you ascertain if your setup supports Multichannel AAC;

Also I'm certain  Multichannel AAC license holder only allows it to work using HDMI connections to AVR, pretty much SPDIF/COAX is limited to lossy DTS, Dolby and no higher than stereo LPCM (lossless) channels.

just make sure to properly shutdown the r200 and you can safely disconnecct the ext drive.

Just turn it off using the remote. You'll notice mamamatay ilaw nang mga external USB. Then you can take it off..

So I just leave it to RAW and avoid AAC files?

It just means you are limited to 2 channel output if you have content that contain AAC audio.

If you want multichannel, you can convert the audio track to Dolby or DTS.

Now that I am ready to view it, everytime I go to access that file, the moment the file is highlighted - the player reboots and reloads. I try and access the file again and the same thing happens over and over again.

I think I have 2 files that are like this. I tried to delete the files and reload a new downloaded version of the file from a different uploader, yet, the same thing happens again.

Any of you experience this?

IF you are running samba and/or BT, its safe to stop the service before you shut it off.  I think there's a concern before raised on a WD. coz if you automap drives, or run BT automatically, it will have these open files.

but if the service is not running, power off would suffice to powerdown the drives.

this happened to me as well but once only. r200 just rebooted after playing afile but never experienced it again.

i do have a lot of experience where in after pressing play on a file... it freezes or at times there's video but it didnt decode the DTS or dolby of the file.what i just do is to press stop and press on play again problem is solved.

While we have little control how mkvs get encoded, I've always liked the player for its playback, and if ts something more recent, it would help egreat check out the corresponding torrent and check.

Once i get it I will send to egreat, hope you can help me secure the info screenshot of that file. FW i assume are all in .39.

Hi sir Vortex! In your case, your lucky as you were still able to play it. Mine is not the same case. Once the cursor or selection of the file to be made land on the file name, it already reboots the system.
