@ SMT

Good PM mga Sirs. Pwede po ba attach external DVD ROM sa H1055 para maging DVD player na din? May lalabas din po ba na menu for Movie and audio files? Salamat po.

Kahit di ako sure but as with other NMTs it should play EXTERNAL DVD ROM....

Question naman po, bakit pag nakalagay yung internal na HDD ko, nakikita ko sya as USB drive sa File Manager?

Scanning the table should be quick, but disk playback  off USB vs SATA may make a difference sa huge 1080p playback. Measy E8HD sees internal disk as SATA HDD. I wonder if the unit has a SATA to USB converter for its internal drive. can anyone confirm?

Mas mabilis ang SATA.

Yung M1073 ko it detects the internal hard disk as HDD.

I read the KAIBOIER sees the internal SATA disk as USB, I assume it does internally has a SATA-> USB converter inside, but the circuitry is USB 2.0.

I have a Measy E8HD in the kitchen and it sees the 250GB  drive as SATA, so reads are faster.

If an MT or NMT  is capable of both SATA and USB, i'd use SATA any day (SATA transfer feed is 3.0GBps vs USB 2.0  max of 0.480GBps (~ 480mbps).

Has anyone tried playback of a 40GB sized bluray in your Kaiboer MT off USB, just to see if it will statter in esp. in fast action scenes?

If you are happy with 1080p < 10GB files, you should be ok with the USB interface, just know the SATA vs. USB throughput difference, and that SATA to USB exactly is just a SATA disk connected to a  USB connection , and thus is still just USB.

Egreat R6B is 100% USB and is also Realtek 1055. R200 is 2 x USB 2.0 + 2 x SATA (internal drive and external drive).

p.s.While USB 3.0 is much improved throughput, dont hope for NMT with USB host that is USB 3.0, coz most are using USB 3.0 as slave (meaning PC to the MT/NMT as storage)

afaik a 40gb 2hr movie will require a speed of only 6mbps, hence it won't matter if you're using sata or usb. cmiiw.

i think n yung usb 3.0 ng prodigy is for connecting to pc as slave drive for transferring data, i think what sir toys4geeks means ung usb 3.0 as host connection kumbaga saksakan ng external drive to watch movies.

@ conan,
most NMT offering has 2 USB types:
host ports (host to disk storage or thumb drive ) and slave ports (slave to a PC/laptop , you see NMT as a disk drive in your PC via USB slave port conection)

looking closer at the URL you gave, it has USB 3.0 alright, but what kind, its a USB 3.0 slave port? --
Quote
USB Supported
USB 3.0 and 2.0 Interfaces
Add ports with USB hubs, USB card readers
2x USB 2.0 (USB-A)
1x USB 3.0 Slave Port (USB-B)

but if its USB 3.0 is a host port, that's great news for you if you are eyeing this.

Ok lang dapat ang USB.  Just make sure you get a powered one (either dock or enclosure).  Experience ko with a USB powered 2.5" HDD in enclosure, nag-h-hang.  It can't seem to keep up.  320Gb WD 2.5" 5400RPM HDD in generic "Samsung" enclosure with USB 2.0 connection to my Xtreamer 1st Gen.

Some say just get a 7200RPM HDD.

It amazes me that you spent a serious amount of money on your HT system yet decided to buy the lowest priced media player.  I hope they match well.   Cheers.

It's because I still prefer the BDs for my collection. ;D I'll use this MP just for movies that i will probably watch only once. I'm just getting mkv files from my colleagues since i don't have time downloading.   ;D ;D ;D

sir s http://www.kaiboerhd.com/support_view.php?id=302 po, pag n try nyo p feedback nman po sir

Unfortunately, the Kaiboerhd website directs you to a Chinese site and the version stated there is the old install_1055_20101022. zip which is the default FW.   A newer FW ver 20101115 is found in http://www.futeko.com/navpage/support.php?f=10&t=136. check your info version to see if you have the latest.

You can read the specs in the pdf file of the new FW.  As I stated earlier, it made file browsing faster.

Allan value for money talaga itong player na ito, esp yung 1055plus at 3.5t. Was looking for an enclosure for 2tbHDD and was quoted at 2.5t,enclosure pa lang yon ;D so parang plus 1t na lang add mo may Mkv player ka na. ;) As for players playing all kind of files esp those 40gb, sayang lang, mag real thing ka na lang kasi iba talaga yung satisfaction pag blu ray:D ;) imho lang naman. Btw I had the remote replaced and so far ok na ;)

Mga sirs,

I'm a noobie pagdating po sa Media Players. I would like to put a hdd into my 1055+, my question is, can I put a WD Caviar Green 1 TB SATA Hard Drives (WD10EARS) in to my unit? Will I encounter any compatibility problems? Any special preparations before I insert the hdd into the 1055+.

I would appreciate any help mga comrades... :)
