sana lang e makakuha at a discounted price..   bale wala VFD and IR ng Ahanix ko (1st gen Ahanix D4), hindi ko magamit sa MCE. anyways, this seems like a better solution than me getting a seperate touch-screen monitor to control my MCE machine without turning on my TV.

Malamang you can change the VFD or order it without one and just get something like a matrix orbital or something. Alam ko yung Imon VFD does not support MCE simply because may kasama siyang frontend software that the LCD was made for.  Sayang nga eh... Also checkout the new cases from ahanix, they look high end also... MCE302 http://www.ahanix.com/ahanix_product.asp?pid=27 and also the MCE401 http://www.ahanix.com/ahanix_product.asp?pid=28

the MCE401 looks very much like the Alienware HTPC.  Maganda pa... you can mod the front door cover with a slot, and place a Slot load DVD drive! if you have the resources to have it professionally milled.

I'm ordering some cases from silverstone soon, LC10M, but its for our inventory kasi, but if you want let me know if you want to order a case para i sabay ko lang sa order. I'm not sure how much shipping cost will be yet but baka pumatak ng mga 8k -9k isang case. Di kasi bulk order kaya mahal. Ganun talaga ang price eh... even if I order from factory... yung dinagdag ko lang dyan is an estimate for the shipping cost. Anyway let me know. :)

Here's a very good one from Silverstone:

I'm using one of this.  I love the remote function.

Plenty of room and can accomodate a full ATX board.

Andaleon,

Cool, what are your thoughts on that enclosure? I was thinking of that case too, but I dont know how functional the hotkey buttons are...what software does the case use to interface the buttons in front? I need a dual Optical Drive bay case also.  How is the construction of the case? does it feel solid? I had the chance to assemble an HTPC on a LC01 but I was not so satisfied with the case's construction, it did not feel as solid as the Aristec Cases we have been using. I just recently decided on switching from arisetec to silverstone mainly becuase shipping is easier from Taiwan than Korea, but I do love the aristec cases especially now that their HT-400 can be ordered with a spring door (instead of a bezel) and 2 80mm exhaust fans at the back. I'm still looking for a shipper that will make my headaches go away if I order items from korea.

Can you take snaps of your case? Thanks dude!

Jay

Jay,

The buttons on the LC-14M are fully functional. It's very neat --like using regular transport buttons.

Remote is by iMon.

Case is very well constructed and solid! The optical bay doors are spring loaded.

But when the HifiATX comes to market, I'm selling this one.

sir, is your hdd 7200 rpm already? if so, you may want to change your dual ddr to a single 512mb ddr400.

they say single is better than dual. so instead of 2 512mb, get one 1Gb.

i suggested a memory upgrade or side-grade (single 512mp) assuming the hdd is 7200 rpm. if the hdd is a 5400 rpm-er, i would have suggested an hdd upgrade.

if i may add, video processing has more to do w/ the processor. but this is a more expensive route as you may have to change your board too.

nice monitor n very nice price! do you find the 1920x1200 resolution too big for the 26" screen or just right? have you tried 1080p on 'em? how is it for watching dvd's? thanks!
On what display do you display 1080p? AFAIK they're coming out months from now.

My still messy HTPC Setup:

Intel P4 2.6c
2 x 256 MB DDR400
2 x 80Gb Seagate Harddisks
Samsung DVD-ROM Drive
Sony DRU-510ULX External DVD Writer
Inno3D GeForceFX 5600 128mb
1 x Jetway PCI-TV TV Tuner Card
Altec Lansing PowerCube 45.1 powered by onboard audio (I know, i know!!!)
Logitech RF wireless keyboard and mouse
Snapstream Firefly RF Remote
Driving a Samsung ST-50L2HX 50-inch DLP Widescreen TV via VGA port

Running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

Watching WMV-HD content at 720p and 1080p is awesome!!! Doom 3 is also a sight to behold... :)

Not that I dont believe you but can your Samsung really do 1080p?

i dont, my display is limited to 720p. i was talking about jambam's dell monitor which does 1920x1200. 1080p has been available for some time, mostly in some 40+ inch lcd tv's (i.e. samsung has one, sharp has one, etc), prohibitively expensive though... the 24" dell monitor that jambam got has a native resolution of 1920x1200 and can therefor display 1080p resolution

Using a 24" monitor w/c is primarily for my PC means that you have to be conscious to back off a bit when watching Video.  When watching 1080i and 720p videos you still  see some blockiness when you are sitting too close. I am not sure whether this was the source or the way the video was encoded , but the fast action scenes on LOTR 3 was quite blocky. But Star Trooper in 1080i was really excellent ...

BUt be ready to upgrade your HTPC setup' when you start viewing HD video's , My athon xp 2400 oc to 3400+ sometimes stutters ... I think I need to upgrade to a A64 w/ venice core...And lot's more storage..

I'm guessing the blockiness is attributed to the picture not being at the native resolution?

Yeah I read a review on this card it seems to be pretty good, only draw back I think is the lack of inputs? it does not have aux in or CD in I forgot, but the review is more on the good.  Dolby Digital Live!

You can actually buy boards that already have DDlive in them, the Soundstorm Nforce2, and the newer Intel boards for the LGA 775 chips.  I forgot the chipset alam ko lang intel ang gumawa, built in na yung DDlive sa motherboard.
