@Clondalkin
sir ung onboard video ng mobo EMAXX AMD780G-PRO SB700 + 64mb Sideport Mem, is this enough na or still mas maganda pa din kung may separate video card?

Havent tried AMD780G.   Anong maximum resolution neto?

Teka muna, why do you have to build another PC if your current rig can be easily upgraded?  Di ba sabi mo bago pa sya?   As I previously indicated, ang biggest weakness ng system mo right now is the size of your hard drive.    BTW, do you have a good quality and high capacity PSU?

 :D

Upgraded my rig to become a HTPC.  Sold my old shuttle XPC and got the following setup.

All from PCX Greenhills

GIGABYTE GA-MA780GM-S2H
AMD x2 5200
Transcend 2.0gig DDR2 PC800 memory
Astone Enforcer Casing + 500watt PSU

Then used my old Samsung 18x DVD Writer / Logiteck KB + Mouse

Ganda ng performance if connected to LG Plasma.

HDMI CONNECTION.

Ok na sa akin ito... I just connect to my wireless LAN for surfing... :)

MAX resolution 1280X768.  :)

Hello everyone... my first post here.

Sir, Pareho tayo ng mobo na gamit and I have no plan to put a dedicated GPU for now... are you sure max resolution ng HTPC mo eh 1280x786 lang?... afaik, it can handle 1080p very well...

I'm planning to put my HTPC on a Sony Bravia 40" @1080p as its native resolution.

yup... 1280x786 max resolution sa LG Plasma 32 inch.

When I run 1080p/i no signals sa plasma monitor ko.

I'm very please with my HTPC setup speciall that I just connect with the HDMI cable direct to the monitor.

Less cable clutter + may audio pa coming from the monitor :)

i'm experiencing that problem too, yung biglang bumibilis parang nadudulas... bakit nga kaya...

hi sir, just last night I was able to solve the problem. All I did was install an external audio card which I had lying around in my cabinet and disabling
my onboard audio. My stuttering problem was completely removed. I guess this was cause by my built-in audio choking. By the way the sound card
I used is an old Sound Blaster live 5.1 Digital. Hope this will also solve your problem.

Bro! i was able to output DTS thru Optical Cable playing mkv files!
-Realtek HD Audio Manager: Output source:"Output digital audio source"
                                        Channel Config: DTS Interactive
Thanks!
 ;D

I agree now sir. I tried again using Realtek HD Audio Manager when playing mkv file and compared the SQ when  setting my receiver to DTS Neo. I noticed that Using Realtek HD Audio Manager produced better SQ than just setting my receiver to DTS Neo.

In the case of a 780G mobo the hdmi will also carry digital audio. 2 channel nga lang based on my experience.

hi mga sirs,

I have notice that mkv players like KM, Zoom, MPC etc... have option in their AC3 filter for selecting how many channels
your speaker setup would be.  I just wanted to ask which one is better, the 3/2 5.1 setting or the Dolby Pro Logic II if I have
a 6 channel speaker setup on my HTPC? I have notice that Dolby Pro Logic II is the last choice among the setting. Does this
mean that Dolby Pro Logic II is better than the 3/2 5.1 option in the AC3 filter?

Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks.

Uy! Nice... sana may mabili din akong ganyang case dito.

Acutally may napili na ako yung Antec NS4280B ba yun?... pero sobrang laki at hindi kakasya sa Home Theater cabinet ko.

Do you mind telling me the OS you are using for that and what HTPC software are you using? codecs?
