Sir Conan,
Baka sumunod ako sa yapak mo  ;D

Cool! Sa movies panalo talaga ang Klipsch but listening to it in stereo mode with an AV receiver doesn't do it justice. If you listen to the RB 61 II with an integrated stereo amp like NAD 326BEE may laban din siya sa music.  ;D  Bili ka na lang din ng NAD amp then swap the speaker wires (with banana plugs para mabilis) when in music mode.

Any chance na magkaroon ka nang LSi 9 for demo? Mas affordable ang LSi9 kesa sa A9 and i heard kay sir stagea maganda daw talaga ang LSi9 for music..

Magkaiba sila ng tunog bro, worlds apart. They serve different markets kasi (though one is not necessarily better than the other).

The LSi line has a more relaxed and laid-back presentation, and is typically suitable for jazz and vocals (and other similar materials). This is a speaker line that's meant to sound "pleasant." Within this line, I prefer the LSi9's reproduction over the LSi7, because of a slight resonance in the lower mids for the latter (making voices a bit weighter and more nasal). Both bookshelves have a punchy low end (similar to recent B&Ws) however, which may or may not appeal to people. The LSi15 and the LSi25 are a little more behaved in that department.

Below is the frequency response plot for the LSi25. Watch the purple line dip in the mids and highs. This causes the laid-back presentation and the perception of warmth. The strong lows will certainly get emphasized inside a listening room. On the other hand, the very smooth line ensures that there is no sound sticking out, ensuring a more seamless presentation. These speakers need space around them (to prevent bass bloat), while the ring radiator tweeters in these speakers sound best when fired directly to the listening position.

The RTi line has a flatter measured response (no gundry dip and downward response slope), with far more high frequency energy. This makes it appear more forward, brighter and livelier overall compared to the LSi line. The sound is closer to midlevel Infinity and JBL products than it is to the LSi line. The RTi A9 is my favorite in this lineup, because it's very close to neutral. I prefer this characteristic for movies, orchestra music, rock, electronica, etc.

Notice the very different line for the RTi A9 (purple line). The lows roll-off, which negates room gain in a typical environment. There is some emphasis in some parts of the highs, on the other hand. This is a speaker that's meant to sound "correct" when slightly off-axis. I would assume that it's meant to sit close to the backwall (to reinforce the lows), and fire straight forward (to manage the upper octaves).

Or pwede bang iconnect sa pre-out ng Onkyo 805 yang NAD stereo amp sir?  ;D

Sir Conan pabulong naman ng ballpark price nang NAD integrated amp...
Baka pwedeng ipambili na lang yung price difference nang LSi9 sa RB-81 II  ;D

A9! A9! A9!

Please excuse the butting in TS.

You're welcome lncc63. I'd like to add that the selection of the ring radiator tweeter for the LSi lends to very clean and controlled highs (thanks to a robust suspension), in the expense of dispersion characteristics. This makes for a sweeter sweet spot, but a smaller one. For a larger listening area, you have to pull back the speakers more to cover this area with good sound (otherwise, the sound from one seat may be very different from the next).

The RTi has a conventional textile dome tweeter, which partly relies on its self damping to control resonances. The output is likely a bit more distorted (especially at higher volumes), but this allows for a broad dispersion characteristic. You can sit close to the speaker, and move left to right with little change in sound. In a home theater environment, this means you can accomodate more usable seats for a given room (or need a smaller room for a given seating area). Aside from cost, this is why dome tweeters are very popular with mass-market speakers.

In terms of amp requirements, the RTi is much easier to drive than the LSi. The higher impedance and sensitivity (plus amp-friendly phase angles) of the RTi line makes it very manageable for most AVRs. The LSi speakers aren't as difficult as other high end speaks, but they are significantly more demanding than the RTi speaks. The lower impedance and more capacitive load demands more amp current. Furthermore, positioning them farther away from the listening area (to get them to sound their best) means a need for extra juice to get the same listening volume.

Overall, the compromises made in the design of the LSi line is geared more towards a higher-end install (availability of a bigger room and amp muscle), while the RTi's design parameters were focused on performing for more mainstream installs (its target segment).

Guys...
I was at MLY yesterday from 3pm to around 430pm. I was able to listen to LSi7, Klipsch RB-61 II and MA RX2. Unfortunately di ko nadala yung transformer for my Onkyo 805 kaya di namin nagamit  :'(

Using the Onkyo 608 we tried first LSi7 and RB-61 II. Kahit na medyo underpowered ang LSi malayo ang tunog nya compared sa Klipsch when it comes to music. Para kong baby na hinihela sa LSi  ;D Swabeng swabe ang details, not too bright and not too warm ang dating, basta masarap sa tenga.
Sa movies naman I think panalo dito ang Klipsch, napakadaling idrive ng Klipsch and watching Ironman was really awesome! Ganda ng detalye ng bakbakan nung first part, parang ako yung binabaril  ;D
Then we tried na RX2. Balanced cya, I think neutral. Mas detailed ang bass maybe because of it's 8" woofer driver. Sa music din ang strength ng RX2 I think.

Overall I'm impressed with the LSi7. Sarap talaga sa tenga pakinggan. Ika nga nila, "Music to my Ears"  ;D
I'm still undecided betweeen LSi or Reference II because I'm more into movies pero my wife likes to listen to classical songs... Separate set-up? Sana, if space and budget permits. Pero sa ngayon HT set-up lang talaga  :D

Malalaman natin sa June, hehehehe...

BTW, I also went to SnS last night to pick up my Toshiba 55XL700... upgraded the 47" and added for the price difference and since wala pang 1 month walang price depreciation yung 47XL700  :D Nice...

Sayang di kayo nakapunta brader Courage at Carlitocool... Dibale next month hopefully EB na  :D

uy mukhang dalawa na lang ang choices mo brader... either one is a good pick depende na lang sa preference mo if more on movies or music.. basta wag mo ako kalimutan invite sa house mo once nakabili ka na, hehe... congrats pala sa new 55" LEDTV mo... ang bilis mo talaga mag upgrade bro...

With my set-up when I want to listen to audio, I power up my Topping TP60 amp (which kinda sounds like a NAD amp) then replace the speaker wire from the Onkyo receiver to the speaker wires from the TP60 amp. It doesn't take long since they are terminated with banana plugs.

If you connect a NAD amp through the pre-outs, it might complicated matters as Audyssey calibration levels will change depending on the volume level of the NAD. The sound signature might also be different compared to the "Onkyo" sound driving the center and rears.

Thanks sir. I'm very contented with the TV already, yung 47" kasi parang very minimal lang difference sa 42"... Maipapamana ko pa to sa magiging anak ko, hehehe. Ganda talaga ng 14bit video processing ng XL700 as well as the cable booster. Solb na solb na ko dito!  ;)
