Louie, suggest you put your sand in small bags when loading the stands. Skylans stands that harbeth use produce the best sound a little over halfway point lang, while I am aware those aren't skylans, it might benefit you to know this. Having the sand in bags, you can easily add and remove as you deem nec.. Also others had better success using kitty litter (pebble like) instead of sand for their stands.

I also use kitty litter. You're sure that it is really dry. If you use ordinary sand, make sure it is sun dried.
