does anybody remember looker from 1982? starred albert finney i think, not sure about the leading lady. remember seeing it in the now defunct eastern theatre. wala lang i thought it was funny and i want to see it on dvd. was directed by michael crichton.

some great movies have not been released on region 3, however, some movies that kim85 wanted were already released, such the deer hunter, million dollar baby. i am a lawyer and an avid dvd collector, around 300 dvds from all over hollywood{critically acclaimed, blockbusters, award winners} and world cinema, region 1s and region3s. me kinukuhanan, inoorderan akong region 1 dvds dito sa metro manila. you can contact me through phone, 2454097 ofis o 4171429 sa residence, so i can tell you guys where kung di pa alam ng mga most of you. i also have a dvd of jose rizal {1998} ni cesar montano, the only local movie i have. look for these movies if you really like movies...

duck soup at a night at the opera lang naman ang considered na outstanding movies ng marx brothers,unless na favorite mo sila.masyadong magastos pag boxset na.

the movies i posted above are mostly available on dvd but in other regions and/or rare pa rin kaya i wish that they will be released commercially.

mga world cinema na sila, sa hollywood kasi, african queen na lang at jazz singer ang di pa nare release sa mga 100 films ng afi.

kaya puro world cinema na ang inilagay ko at yung mga too common,di ko na ininclude.

I think "Wings of Desire" deserves a bloody good special edition. It's still the crap release from 19something.

I would like to see those Filipino short films/digital films/independent films on DVD. Tiga bundok kasi ako kaya wala akong pagkakataon mapanood ang karamihan nito, maliban na lang sa ibang nailabas na sa DVD.

to all those looking for the jose rizal dsvd of cesar montano and marilou diaz abaya-

as i have previously stated,

my friend has the extra copy of the said dvd which i did not buy from our common friend.

i have repeatedly followed up this to him-

that there are many guys looking for this rare dvd and wanting to buy the copy but he is so busy and

hindi niya inaasikaso, puro pangako lang............. very limited lang talaga ang jose rizal dvd na to

wala kasing hilig yun sa mga dvd...........

anyway, here are some other great movies which should be released even on region 1 ntsc.....................

I have been trying to look for a DVD copy of "THE CARMELITES" which is about the 16 Carmelite Nuns who were put to death during the french Revolution via guillotine starring Jeanne Moreau. I saw this when I was about 12 or 13. I think this was produced sometime in 1960 or was it 1962. this movie is based on the opera "Dialogues of the Carmelites". Would anyone know if there is a DVD copy of this movie?

Checked Amazon: They have DVD title but is an opera.
Checked IMDB: They have the title in French with Moreau but no mention if it's available in DVD.

I have checked at amazon a few days ago. No they don't have a DVD copy of the one with Moreau on it. I guess they have the English Opera version in Australia on DVD. A few years back I think there was a VCD copy of the film but it was not available. I might order the Australian English Opera version in the meantime....

I even emailed this swiss guy at the amazon who mentioned that he has a DVD copy of the original film produced in 1960 but it turned out it was not the film with Jeanne Moreau and it is in French without sub-titles. Sayang....

yes! that's the one.............that movie is a classic of philippine cinema..............

though i'm not in favor of fernando poe becoming a president.....i like this movie a lot, reminds me of my yesteryears..............................i still have vivid memories of the time i saw this on tv
