Wala na maganda CDP sa Little Chatty's. Doon sa FJMR at doon sa dulo. Meron Victor XL-Z701 CDP.

I would love to have the Sony 7series or those heavy CDPs > 10kg. These are most likely the totl.

It is difficult to predict what CDP will come out in the Pier or which store where it will appear. The best thing to do is to memorize CPD model numbers so that when you are at the Pier you will be able to spot a good one immediately and buy it. If you don't see however those nice CDPs you can settle for those mid range (these are much more plentiful). When you have memorized a fair number of these it should be easy to spot those who use the good DACs eg I have stated earlier that the Sony CDP-750 or 950 also uses the Philips TDA1541. So what you can do is buy one of these and have someone modify the internals for you so you can get same performance as those totl.

BTW, another relatively good CDP is the Sony CDP-970. It uses 2pcs PCM58P DAC which is same as the 228ESD. The board is more or less similar to the 228ES so a good mod will make it sound same as 228ESD or better.

I have spotted these CDPs not at Little Chatty's but at FJMR and at the store on the far end (doon po sa "dulo").

I think that having a back up plan same as above is essential because there are lots of days where there is no totl CDPs.

mga sirs,

I have been surfing the thevintageknob.org site and am surprised to see that the cdps of yesteryears are of superb and excellent built, comparable sa mga current avrs ang bigat.

am keen on acquiring a sony es series, pa-estimate naman mga sirs kung magkano ito.

thanks

btw, pag nasira ba surplus cdps sir madali bang mahanapan ng parts, like lens, rubber....

thanks again

Recently acquired this ...

http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.audio-heritage.jp%2FYAMAHA%2Fplayer%2Fcd-3.html&sl=ja&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8

This CD player uses the Burr Brown PCM53 DAC and uses 2x oversampling.

The optical pick-up system is the same as the Yamaha CD-X1.

"The optical pickup of the signal tracks of the disk at an angle to put a three spot beam method uses three individual spots.  In this scheme, the end to check the exact difference in the two individual tracks, servo control LSI has been achieved, coupled with a stable trace."

This is the optical pick-up system implementation.

http://vintage-audio-laser.com/lod/56_vintage-audio-laser_lod_da800scan2_400PX.jpg.

This CD player also uses the Burr Brown PCM53 DAC and uses 2x oversampling.

The Yamaha CD-3 and Lo-D DAD-800 sound very similar. The soundstage is wide and the imaging is very good.

Bought the units in the Pier.

How much? Sent you PM.

There are many other units there based on Burr Brown PCM54, PCM56, PCM58 and Sony CXD2552 (1bit) DAC. I no longer memorize the model numbers except for those that I want to buy. I am using a list similar to below when I go there so I don't miss anything. I bring my list along and look at it while checking out the CDP on display.

Yes. No issue converting them to 220V. No, I haven't tried converting any 100V equipment to 220V though.

Since I started using my DAC list, there isn't one instance where I didn't want to buy anything as many totl CDP also use the same DAC as the lower end CDP. Just research on which DAC or DACs are suitable for you then visit the Pier. Don't pay too much attention on the weight and looks. They are not necessarily an indication of how good a CDP is.

i had a surplus denon cdp converted to 220, still sounds ok to me. they just put another transformer inside the cd players body and left the old one inside. i guess they did it that way so if you want to change it back, no problem.

I am just using an LG L2340 as my amplifier( this is a dvd karaoke integrated system.I hope you can imagine . the centerpiece of common abenson component system). Grabe ang laki ng improvement ng quality ng tunog nakakaadik. I am surprise that not only original cd sounds good even burn audio cd from mp3 files sounds very good. I never heard kenny rogers sings that low and the boyfriends rocks pala haha. Andrew e sounds so solid and radioactivesago is suave.sorry guys just new in hi-fi.
