2012 All-Star Starters:

             EAST      WEST
G          Rose       Paul
G          Wade      Bryant
F           Anthony  Durant
F           James     Griffin
C           Howard   Bynum

My picks for the reserves (2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center, and 2 wild cards):

East: Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Iguodala, Stoudemire, Bosh (as center), Wall (if Rondo is not available), Pierce

West: Westbrook, Nash, Love, Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Nowitzki, Aldridge

Medyo mahirap pumili ng second center sa East.

in the East, I'd pick Greg Monroe as a backup center. I'd put both Irving and Rubio ahead of Joe or Wall. Deng if he's healthy.

In the West, I don't think Dirk is having an all-star year. Millsap, Gerald Wallace, or even Gallinari would be more deserving. Then there's Duncan, Ty Lawson, Harden ... man, the West is deep.

Rubio plays for Minnesota in the West..

My All-Star reserve picks

EAST
Hibbert (or Tyson) - Indy at 4th placed needs a rep,
Bosh
Iguodala
J. Johnson (or J. Smith)
Pierce
B. Jennings (breakout year)
D. Williams  (or Irving)

Didn't pick Monroe or Wall coz their teams are godawful.

WEST
M. Gasol
L. Aldridge
Gallinari
Parker (or Lowry)
Westbrook
P.Millsap
Love

Didn't pick Nowitzki, Duncan, P. Gasol, Nash since these old dudes are better off getting some rest in the All Star Break.

Griffin tried to posterize Mozgov once again...this time around Mozgov met him at the rim and decked him with a hard foul sending Griffin to the floor. It took him a minute before he was able to stand up.

After that Griffin's game was sub par all the way with majority of his shots outside the paint. I just wonder what could have happened if Blake played the original Bad Boys of Detrot and he tried that stunt against Mahorn, Laimbeer and Rodman. He will go home on a stretcher to say the least.

Malas talaga ng knicks natalo pa sa celtics. They got open looks down the wire pero ayaw talaga pumasok.

that Lakers-Nuggets game has got to be one of the worst officiated endgame this season.. how can they not call a foul on that Bynum play? at any angle, it was a tap on the wrist.. buti na lang the Lakers still held on to win..

Jeremy Lin a joy to watch for the usually inept NY Knicks ..... making his best impression of Steve Nash in the ongoing NY-UTAH game.

Natural passing skills and deceptively quick ..... decent defense, though he'll probably be eaten up by elite guards down the road (D.Williams seems lost in that NJN team).

Good story for the NBA so far.

Kobe goes up in the scoring list.  Pansin ko yun mga milestones ni Kobe nakukuha niya in a game na talo sila like now and yun passing Jerry West as the all time leading scorer among others.

Before the game, Kobe needed 24pts.  He scored 28pts on 26 attempts  Almost only 1pt per attempt which should be 2pts.  So there's the question of efficiency.

28 points on 26 attempts is efficient. That's 53% FG%.

How so?  How were you able to compute the 53%FG?

Kobe was 10-26FG for the game.  So that's 38%FG.

The inefficiency I was talking about is usually a made field goal scores as 2pts.  If you only score a point for every FG, then its inefficient.

Kasi you said 28pts on 26 attempts.

Pano yung 53%? 28/52. I assumed no FTA nor 3PTM.

you usually get the percentage from FGM/FGA..

a player can score 100 points pero useless yun if he took 400 shots... and made only 50.. that will make his % bad... 12.5%..

greats like jordan usually aim for above 50% meaning  even if they take 40 shots and make more than half of it... its acceptable...

in the case of kobe, he made 10 out of 26 attempts that night... which is a mere 38%.. well mere in nba standards.. pero in reality.. its really hard to make half of your shots to go in, especially if youre playing from the outside...

centers usually has higher FG% coz theyre attempting much near the basket... shaq i believe has around 58% FG% in his career which is a given since mas malapit sya... imagine a dominant center shooting almost 60%...

so mahirap talaga ang barometer nila jordan sa sarili nila.. the further you are the more likely it is that youll miss..

It seems like this would not be the year for the City of Angels. I do believe however that they will make a major move after the All Star game. A move that will define the direction of the franchise for years to come. They won't get to the finals yes but they will put themselves in the hunt for the next couple of years with that major move.
