Thank you for reposting. I agree with a lot of your picks. But for me I don't believe Garnett and Duncan should start. Pwede siguro sa reserves. Pero baka Paul Pierce pa nga over Garnett, eh.

oo nga..kaya ko lang naman sila nilagay sa starting 5, kasi sa pagbibigay ng respeto sa kanila kasi future hall of famer na silang dalawa.

Mayweather knocks Jeremy Lin hype on Twitter

Posted Feb 13 2012 9:12PM
Las Vegas (AP) -- Not every athlete is caught up in the Linsanity.

Unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has posted a swipe at the New York Knicks' point guard sensation on Twitter.

Mayweather posted on Monday: "Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise."

Lin has led the Knicks to five straight victories, including a 38-point game against the Lakers.
Mayweather rarely hesitates to air racially charged opinions, either in person or in social media.

He has repeatedly insulted rival Manny Pacquiao, including an online video in 2010 in which he used racial and homophobic slurs against the Filipino congressman.

Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's top adviser, didn't immediately return a phone call.

WTF?! pati ba naman sa NBA gusto ni Mayweather siya pinag-uusapan?  ::) >:(

I would put Dirk instead of Tim for the West.

ang daldal talaga ni Mayweather, kala mo kung sino siya.

Personally, I try to be humble and soft spoken.

But when it comes to sports stars, I hate it when they're humble and soft spoken. I like sports stars to be brash, loud, chippy, angas, even arrogant, with large egos. MJ, Magic, Bird, Kobe, LeBron, CP3. And the best example: Muhammad Ali.

Add my idol, the greatest racer ever, Ayrton Senna DaSilva, who also had the greatest ego ever.

to a certain extent, sure.and it helps a  bit if they can back up what comes out of their million dollar pie holes. ::)

NYK @ TOR: Jeremy Lin already has 5 TOs (Knicks down double-digits), with more than 6 mins to go in the 2Q.  And he's playing against Calderon, who I think has the best assist-to-TO ratio in the NBA.  I guess this is the result of opposing teams now becoming more deliberate and focused on defending Lin.  Hope he manages the pressure and plays better.

It's actually easy to scout Lin.  He doesn't have a pull up jumper, always starts at the top of the key and likes to pass to the wings when it gets tight.  He also starts his drive to the basket with his right, even when he does a crossover.  His jump shot only works when he's pulled or fakes to the left or if he's open, of course.

Playing a zone against the NYK will work dividends when he's the point guard and there's no Melo option to create baskets from botched plays.

In fairness, though, he already has 9 points, 6 assists and 1 steal with plenty of basketball left to play.  Plus, Amare would be a great fit for his style of play.

Wow!  Just checked back on the NYK-TOR game, and Lin hits a game-winning three?!!  I guess the only question now is whether Carmelo can co-exist with Lin.  :)  Carmelo is targeting to return on Friday vs. the Hornets, which should be a "harmless" game in case he returns.  The real test will be Dallas the next game, and, on Feb 23 before the All-Star break: Miami!

actually if you look at his stats since his first start, he has at least 6 TO per game. i guess this is just the way he plays.

Yeah.  I just thought that 5 TOs in the 2Q alone was remarkable.  But I'm sure the Knicks will take it.  :)

Masyadong mataas lang talaga ang *usage rate nya in the past 6 games. Usually, the higher the usage rate, the higher the turnovers. Accdg to ESPN, he's 4th in usage just behind Bryant, Westbrook, and James. I think the calculation included the games where he was on the bench, his usage could be much much higher in the past 6 games. I expect him to trim his TO's when Melo comes back.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics?sort=usageRate&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fnba%2fhollinger%2fstatistics%3fsort%3dusageRate

*usage - an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor.

hmmm not to defend lin..

pero baka kaya mataas TO nya is because nagpapasa rin sya ng bola, tapos pag di natanggap mabuti ng pinasahan nya, diba TO rin yun against lin?

but anyways.. ok lang ang high TO, i mean, nash has high TO rin and sometime kobe, ganun talaga pag nasa kanya ang bola... mas mataas ang chances ng TO..  the more you share the ball, the higher risk rin ng TO, and of course the more you have the ball, more defense on you therefore higher TO..

i guess ok lang ang TO, as long as its a win.. kesa naman 0 TO pero talo naman..

ika nga, a win is a win, no matter how ugly.. ;D

I'm interested seeing Lin vs. Wade or Lin vs. Cole+Chalmers.

...but I bet the Heat will probably treat Lin as a D.Rose come gametime...

Sakto. Usually, the higher of percentage the team plays run through a certain player(usage), the higher the TO's.

PLAYER               USAGE   TO per game
1. K.Bryant            35%        3.7(6th)
2. R. Westbrook      30.7%      4.3(1st)
3  L.James             30.6%      3.9(4th)
4. J. Lin                 30.4%      2.2/5.2(in past 6 games)

With the current KNICKS confidence and momentum, even without Carmelo NY can make it to the playoffs. But with him (if he goes with the flow), they can make it to the finals and even the championship.
