regarding Steve Nash,i really hope he plays on a contender.I'd hate for another great player to ride into the sunset without a ring.

I think a big factor would be Kobe's refusal to play nice with the press. His personality is really polarizing. Either you love him or you hate him with a passion. He should've won that award in 2006 when he averaged 35 points in a season but they gave it to Nash. No doubt, Steve deserved it, if not Kobe; but that season he carried the team to the playoffs and almost upset Phoenix? And not to mention that 81 points he scored and 62 points in 3 quarters against Dallas?

In the end, I think Kobe feels he don't need to cement his legend with MVP trophies. He's got 5 championships to speak for him and that's the only piece of hardware that matters at the end of every season.

You gotta give Kobe credit. He was the most hated guy the media and shaq's friends and cohorts portrayed him to be but he withstood all of it, even winning two rings without shaq. He was the ALex Rodriguez or Mike Tyson of the NBA till Lebron's "The Decision" happened.

It's just a wonder why a lot of people have yet to grasp the reality that basketball is a team game. You win and lose as a team and you earn a championship as part of one, not by yourself.

LOL sa sobrang asar kay Kobe, binawasan ng isa ang championship rings niya.  :D

Shaq couldn't have won those 3 rings without Kobe and vice versa. Kobe couldn't have won those 2 rings in 2009 and 2010 without Gasol, Bynum, Ariza, Ron Artest, Fisher, etc. because basketball is a TEAM GAME.

back then, i loved Shaq and hated Kobe but everyone has to understand that it takes two to tango.  ;)

Even if Kobe's wife gets her share of the rings, Kobe still has 2.5 more than Lebron. And oh, the Lakers are 3-1 now without the Mamba

ang bangis ni BYNUM.
if only he can play consistently dominating the paint then the Lakers will become serious contenders in the playoffs.

Injuries have been the only thing holding Bynum down for the most part of his career. He's probably better than Dwight Howard offensively right now. I don't see any center with the kind of footwork he displays when he's posting up or facing the basket. Pity he didn't develop the hook shot when he was still training under Kareem. His glaring weakness though is his immaturity.

Pau Gasol made back-to-back 3 pointers in OT  :o

what if gasol missed those treys?
would he be criticized the way bynum was when centers took treys instead of playing just inside the paint?
