Westbrook, or OKC, unaware of the 5 second rule ....

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/19392612/finals-notes-thunder-will-make-sure-to-know-5second-rule-next-time

which might have cost them the game.

I think you have to break not one but Lebron's two legs to stop this guy.  Man, he can even hit a clutch three with one healthy leg.

The Cramp Shot.  They now have a name for Lebron's three point crucial shot while having cramps.

Cramp shot

LeBron James' final three points of Game 4 in the NBA Finals were incredible.

Barely able to do anything more than jog while trying to deal with leg cramps, James took a pass near the top of the key, waved off his teammates and fired a 3-pointer over Thabo Sefolosha to give Miami a 97-94 lead. The ball went through the net with 2:54 left on the clock, and on a play where Sefolosha -- who was playing about 4 feet off of James at the time -- hardly contested the shot.

It was a huge shot for the Heat, who never saw their lead fall below three points the rest of the way.

"If you're cramping, that 3-point shot is the best shot you're going to get, because if you drive to the basket, you're not going to be able to get what you want to get it," Heat guard Dwyane Wade said. "It was a big shot. ... But he showed what we know he has, and he showed that heart and that will to do whatever it takes to make sure this team is victorious."

I remember MJ's flu game.  He was about ready to pass out.  But still put his stamp in the game.  Not knocking on Lebron, but I don't think MJ will let a cramp stop him from finishing the game and leaving his imprint.    ;D

On Tuesday night, James had his “Jordan flu” moment. After being carried from the court because of painful leg cramps in the fourth quarter, he returned and hit the 3-pointer that put the Heat ahead for good.

....but didn't finish the game knowing it was a fluke of a shot and doubted he can repeat it again.  A moment still pales in comparison to a flu game.

Like I said it it's not a knock on Lebron.  It's a tribute to MJ's greatness.

if you've had that kind of cramp then you'll know how painful it is. i've had that kind of cramp before and it's no joke. even Barkley defended Lebron in that sequence. he's played through sprains before and if he called the bench to tell them to pull him out of the game it means that it is that painful. him playing through that he will just be a liability to the team.

I've had that cramp too.  Yes it is painful and it's no joke.  But I finished the game basically on one leg.

is it a crucial championship game with both teams neck-to-neck?

MJ was sick but wasn't immobile. he was not a liability at that time. LBJ lost his mobility and in defending OKC do you think he's not going to be a liability? i think kung delikado lagay ng Miami nun he'll surely come back in the game on the offensive side but he wasn't needed anymore as they were leading.

think about it sir.

MJ had a running fever bad enough that it was hard enough to stand on his own two feet let alone play basketball.  A cramp will rob you of some mobility but not enough to be a total liability.  You can contribute in some other way.

Going back, I'm not putting it against Lebron.  If he feels he would be a liability, then he should sit.  But legendary players have done it.  And it was much more severe than cramps.  Bird with bone spurs on both feet.  Isiah Thomas on a severely sprained foot.  And like I said MJ.

Why you need to be a doctor or an Ortho to post an opinion?  I wasn't actually trying to convince you to believe me.

+1

two crucial shots actually. yung una napaganda pa yung hindi nya pagbaba as he was left open.

the important thing was they got the win and Lebron still delivered with that crucial cramp shot. We should just leave it as it is with Lebron playing his heart out all throughout the game and his leg just gave up on him. MJ is MJ and Lebron is Lebron. He still showed his greatness in that game. Not even Barkley and other basketball analysts were putting his performance down when he didn't play in the last minute.

Good!  Because here's what Dr. Bryson Lesniak has to say about LBJ's cramps:

"Make no mistake about it, though, James was in severe pain as he was forced to leave a close game against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, said Dr. Bryson Lesniak, an orthopaedic surgeon at UHealth Sports Medicine.

The level of pain from such muscle spasms, Lesniak said, “can be anything from a very minor nuisance ... to something severely painful and debilitating, to the point that it looked like he [James] was going through last night: you can’t stand; you can’t walk. You can’t walk on that muscle without stretching it out and having severe pain.’’

Didn't he get back in the game after initially experiencing the cramp?

The article isn't actually a diagnosis but more of a speculation.

Yes. Same way as Jordan, Willis Reed, Bird and other legends have willed themselves to play despite pain and injury.

I think the severe pain didn't last that long so I don't think he "willed" himself that much to go back to the game.

We have our own version of what Lebron and other players did battling through pain...

During a Ginebra game against guest team Northern Consolidated, after getting a severe busted lip in the second quarter courtesy of NCC's Jeff Moore, Jaworski was brought to the hospital.  In the 4th quarter, Jawo came back with seven stitches bloodied jersey and all,  and went right back into the fray and led his trailing Ginebra team back to victory. ;D
