I feel Ryan will do good in the PBA becoz he has the body to bang around plus he's an intelligent player who knows how to feed his teamates in certain situations of the game.
He also knows how to create situations to score.
I foresee him playing the same type of game as when he was with the Staglets of Baste.
He was very dominant coz he has the ball most of the time.
Playing for Ateneo and under Black's system somehow limit his game but still he adjusted well enough and showed his brilliance when it needed most.
No doubt that Buenafe is an intelligent player ...... he has the uncanny knack of making the right plays and making the shots, during clutch situations. He's been that way, even back in HS.
Just for his pedigree, Buenafe will be likely be drafted and signed in the PBA (for mysterious and obvious reasons, all ADMU players get drafted ...... heck, even an inept Jai Reyes was signed a few years back).
IMO it's the conditioning part which will prevent him from making a mark in the pros ...... his body is inherently big. Even a PT friend of mine, doubts that conditioning can consistently keep Buenafe's weight down.
In recent PBA history, I cant recall a portly (read: slow & plodding) player who had a significant impact in the game ...... some possible exceptions are Belga & Quinahan - but it can be argued that Belga is actually very light on his feet and Quinahan has bounced around, only to find a role in Guiao's system.
In many ways, a guy like Ken Bono has had a more consistent amateur career than Buenafe ...... just unfortunate that the ex-MVP was up against PBA forwards and centers that move much faster and jump higher.
I'm rooting for Buenafe ....... for his sake, he better get the best conditioning possible before making that plunge to the pros.
