oh romeo stop killing your team..

Why put the blame on Romeo?

DLSU played a solid game. They played tough when FEU was fighting back strong in the last few minutes of the game.

Cruz fumbled a pass from Romeo clearly intimidated by AVO.
RR Garicia missed a lay up and a trey in succeeding plays.
LA Revilla's trey in the closing seconds was clearly the final nail on the coffin for FEU.

Breaks of the game went to DLSU in game 1.

Gee yoU aRe yoU!

too many forced shots in first half, mahirap maghabol against teams with big men.. rr was setting their shooters, romeo was setting up for himself puro isolation.. great job by dlsu, especially revilla on both ends..

Just sharing this old classic picture of what most basketball forums voted as the strongest high school basketball lineup of ALL TIME.  This team, made up Paras, Magsanoc, Esplana, Pumaren, De Joya, Altamirano among others, beat their opponents by a whopping average of 30 pts or more.

Parang Dream Team sa Barcelona!

ps. the late Coach Dong Vergeire was part of that great team

That Bedan Team beat our high school team by over 40 pts.
They were excellent with their 2-2-1 trapping press with Dindo, Ronnie, Eric, Dong, Gerry up front and Paras manning the paint down low.

UST pouring it on.  At the rate this game is going, unless NU makes a huge run and UST makes some mistakes, the Growling Tigers will take this game.

Mbe also missed two crucial free throws that could have reduced the lead to 5 pts yata.

....... Right now, I'd give the slight edge to DLSU over the rest of the F4 cast ...... like I posted earlier, they are peaking at the right time - something very hard to contend with during the semis/Finals.

I feel that NU (Parks, especially) will cave in to pressure, either in the F4 or the Finals.

This guy seems to have gotten it right ..... so far.  ;)

Seriously, UST played with a lot of urgency, while NU played passively during that 1st half.

Kudos to Pido Jarencio - he has never been (never will be) a tactical coach, but it's time's like these that some old-school motivation helps a lot ...... UST played with swagger, NU was like that deer caught in the headlights.

The good news for NU, there's still one more game ..... no one's giving them the championship, Parks and company needs to play hard all game long this FRI.

Pido never been and will never be a tactical coach?
Sorry to disagree but all the years he has coached the Tigers, UST has always been a contender.
He has been doin a fair share of his job and what i like about his coaching style is similar to the BIG J, "Laban!" "Never Say Die" old school but effective becoz of proper motivations to get the best out of his players.
Should UST upsets NU this coming Friday, i hope they win it all in the Finals.

Exactly what I said bro ...... I never said that Pido was an inept coach.

I said that he wasn't a tactical coach (and never will be), since he doesn't rely much on the X's and O's ..... he's old school, relying mostly on "lakas nang loob" much like the coaches closest to his playing career e.g. Jaworski, Chua, Aric, etc. - and there's nothing wrong with old school as long as you get the results, like what Pido has shown time and again.

In many ways, a much-heralded Yeng Guiao isn't a tactician as well. He has always played a free-wheeling / motion offense where there isn't a designated shooter ...... any one of his 5 players can shoot the ball, as long as it's a good shot.

If there's one coach that best personifies "palakasan nang loob" and getting the most out of his players (stars or scrubs); it's Yeng Guiao.

Win or lose against NU, Pido has done a great job this season ..... even Aric Del Rosario (who has revived his NCAA team) would be proud.

I remember someone told me... Pag-naglaro daw tong team at hindi ka nakapanood, Hindi daw tinatanong kung sino nanalo.  Ang tanong daw ilan ang lamang?  They never lost any game for the whole year in the ncaa or any other league.

They were also the (almost) same group that gave UP the first and only UAAP Basketball Championship.

71-68. with that DLSU enters the finals! I'm not sure if this is true but since 1994 the finals has never been without DLSU or ADMU.

It might be a teng vs. teng affair in the finals.
