Been researching on the pros and cons of active 3d glasses / tv rigs and it seems all the downsides have been addressed by the next gen 3d tech (proprietary tech by LG at this point in time).  Went around the malls today to check it out and I have personally observed the stark benefits of this 2nd gen 3d tech.  

I was more impressed when I did an A-B vs. the current active glasses/tv rigs (plasma, LCD and LEDs).  Don't take my word for it, audition a set yourself.

Best to have all the options on the table to make the right informed choice.  Am sure this 2nd gen 3D TV is not perfect and can still be improved, but the benefits in offers at this point in time really look very compelling. It's still your choice whether to go active or passive; visit your friendly mall stores now.

just got the 47-incher LG 3D smart tv (lg lw5700).  will test drive it extensively and see where it takes me.  
came with 4 glasses, BD player, wifi dongle, magic motion remote, xbox 360 kinect.

i just hooked up my WD external HDD and it was able to play all the mkv files - video wise.  the only issue is that it can't decode the DTS signals so only got to play and hear the Dolby ones.

otherwise, still impressed so far with the connectivity and 3d performance.

yes, fits my wife and 8-yr old very fine. it's very light and pliable so it's very flexible to one's head size. the nose ridge are is amazingly comfy as well, feels secure and doesn't fall off when i bend. it has a very simple and natural fit; such a relief vs. the bulky active 3d glasses i've tried. test drive one in the malls.

even if the panel is thin, the box is wide cause it's well braced from the top and bottom positions.  approximate dimensions are 4' x 2.5' - thickness is 4 inches.  the glasses are cleverly embedded into the top styro bracing that's why it ran up to 4".  good luck buddy.

Thanks for the tip. The 3D glasses in some theaters are uncomfortable for us.  The iMax ones are fine.

no worries, glad to be of help. yes, the passive glasses in the bundle are like the imax glasses at moa. very flexible, simple, not bulky.

sir how much mo nakuha sa anson's. I'm sorry i had to ask this instead of doing it myself. lagi kasing kasama si misis and im have to go incognito on this. gulatan na lang ang labanan, saka na ang sermon at palo.

Cash / Straight charge, could bring it down to around P120k, depending on your nego skills.    that comes with the free xbox kinect + game, BD player + Despicable Me 3d BD, 4 Passive Glasses, A wife dongle, Magic Wand TV Remote for the SMART tv features, and depending on availability you can see if you can nego for a bracket. 

good luck on the hunt.  this LG 3D Smart TV is really phenom.  I auditioned a number of 3D Active systems but often got dizzy in a short time with all the ghosting and flickering.  the positioning of the glasses (more like goggles actually) is quite uncomfortable and you have to choose the right viewing angle. this new gen 3d is definitely a marked improvement.

Good deal as well if you have no need for an Xbox. Otherwise, you can get it in the package and re-sell. 

113k vs. 120k, there's a P7k difference.  The cost of a same-specs xbox is 16,500 @datablitz; translating to almost a 60% discount on the latest Xbox Kinect. 

Well a 7k xbox bargain is very hard to come by if you're into motion gaming.    this logic may very well apply in the 42-incher so decide wisely. good luck on the purchase guys.  either way, this new LG 3D tv is a winner, highly recommended.  I just loaded up on my 3D hd movies and watched Tron Legacy last night. Words escape me.

Ito ung first choice ko LG 47" 3d tv but mas nagandahan ako sa PQ ng active 3d kesa sa passive IMO.  Ang maganda tlga sa package ng LG is ang daming freebies lalo na sa mga walang xbox360 / kinect.    I bought the sammy 46" d6600 instead and ang freebie nia lng is Galaxy tab.
