I'm about to buy a 3D LED HDTV in a months time, thinking of getting an LG due to its very light passive 3D glasses but on almost all the reviews I've read lahat nagsasabi na you loose 50% of the picture quality with the passive type.  You loose the pagiging HD 1080p picture quality, e kaya nga ako bibili ng high end TV for its vivid and high resolution picture e.  To those who own either active or passive, anything you guys noticed?

Also how is the 3D gaming quality for passive TV (is it even compatible)?

Hindi true yung 50% ang naloloose na picture quality although meron talaga difference with 3D and nond-3D viewing. In my experience, I tested both passive (LG) and active (Sammy) 3D glasses and i must say na mas maganda IMO ang active. Sa passive kase meron akong nakikita na rough edges na hindi ko nakita sa active 3D. Some may not notice the difference though. Best way for you is to try to test both active and passive to see for yourself. If you think hindi naman ganun kalaki difference go for passive because its cheaper.  :)

yup, excited na nga ako mag-uwi ng 3D TV, torn talaga ako between the 55" na LG LW6500 or the Samsung 6 series.  Good to know na compatible ung mga PS3 games sa LG, puro siguro outdated ang mga nababasa ko na mga reviews, hehe.   ;D

Yup, I've seen the demos, parehong astig.

sabi ng mga experts ang 3d tv technology ngaun is a flop daw at nakakasama sa mata. next gen 3d tv would be glass-free daw as introduced by toshiba. dun lang siguro ako bibili ng 3dtv kapag mura na glass-free pa.

That would be a long wait for you then.  But even after all those years, hardware and software would probably be priced through the roof so much that it's not even that affordable. A wait of 15 years at the earliest probably. You must be a very patient individual.   ;D

talaga ano link nagsabi ng 50% nawawala ang picture quality? bakit ilang percent nawawalang quality sa mga active types, flicker free din ba?

Hi Sir, i think this would help. http://gizmodo.com/5837907/the-best-3d-technology-stick-with-passive-glasses
The link also explains why the reduction of 50% picture quality is not true.  ;D

No, you just can't say "too many to mention" when you're absolutely certain of your claim. There are also people out there who are knowledgeable in the field who say otherwise. At the end of the day, it depends on one's preference.

mga bro na may LG 3d 42 or 47lw5700 kamusta naman ang energy consumption?
at yung bracket po niya iba po ba sa LCD/PLASMA?
kasi i have bought a perfect view bracket hoping to buy the 50pw350 model of LG, kaso nagustuhan ko yun model na ito lw5700 kaya worry ko lang kung mag fit siya. tapos kung free bracket po ba may kasamang bolt and nuts for the the TV side? and yung XBOX po ba elite o slim po?

thank you po sa information.

i'm also one happy owner of a 3d led/lcd tv from lg model is 47lw5600. all i can say is wow and now i know that size really does matter when it comes to tv; coming from samsung 26" and 32"; but we still have the 32". watching high definition sports is remarkable. my wife and mother are enjoying 3d especially the glasses are lightweight.

got the 42lw5700, the 47inch model i tried with my 6feet viewing distance was too much. My eyes would run around to view side to side with the 47inch one. I would have bought the bigger model if it fit my viewing distance.

To htpc users that plan to play 3d Blu rays with powerdvd and tmt5 do the following
1) Skip the nvidia settings for changing to 1080p/24hz , 720p/60hz and 720p/50hz. Its really a hassle changing modes
2) In the 3D Display Configuration(within powerdvd and tmt5) select the Interleave one, the player will do the decoding instead of passing the decoding to the tv.
3) IMPORTANT: turn off Lg trumotion, it will have some tearing if you don't turn it off during 3d watching.

Just set the lcd to native 1080p/60hz as the default resolution, it will have overscan just press the ratio button and try Just Scan(might need to try the other options if this does not fit as well). As of the latest nvidia driver this is the option that works properly.

Note: 720p/60hz also directly works also and the tv is able to detect that a 3d signal is incoming, while 1080p/24hz has some audio sync problems this is mostly due to the player. But i prefer the above method since you only need to go to settings via remote and turn off trumotion when you want to watch 3d blu rays. Plus the 3d warning does not popup everytime a new video stream is loaded.
