My sub mulfunctioned the dealer told me that it may be due to fluctuating current. Is this really the case?

Just like sa area ko. Dati i don't use voltage regulators because i believe kinda a little bit sakal ang system ko. Although with high capacity regulators, kayang kaya kaso mahal. Residential pa yun place ko dati. But when i moved to a commercial place, there are times na nagiging 235v up ang voltage lalo na sa gabi so i HAD to use voltage regulators. ;D If your keen on using a regulator, get the 2x power rating ng gear mo for headroom vs transient and peak load.

Madumi kuryente? Wow bagong palusot Ito. It's either over or under voltage Lang ang pwede sumira sa electronic gears at saka nga pala yung water pag nabasa ;D yung surges and spikes malamang ang cause ng fried boards pero Hindi yung madumi kuryente ;D

Using a Voltage Regulator is one way to be sure your equipments are well protected & safe from surges & low voltages, for me I just use Line Conditioners for my set-ups just to cleanse the current out & lastly a Digital Volt Meter to monitor the Voltage coming in from the wall, if it goes way too high around 235v above or get so low then I just have to power down everything out just to be safe from destruction as we'll never know what it could cause. Good equipments are given allowances in their power supplies +/- 10% in voltage irregularities but its better not to take chances ;)

That's what I use for my lcd/avr/ht/bd/hddvd/dvd/ps3 setup. Been using it with a belkin surge protector/line conditioner for about 2 to 3 years. No problems naman. It actually gives you some peace of mind.
