Hi!

I would like to ask help on how to setup my ipod touch with my onkyo receiver and output it to my speakers.

My projected setup is something like this:

ipod touch -> receiver -> power amp -> speakers

Will I be able to get a good quality sound from that kind of setup? Or I need to get another set of gears for that purpose?

I believe you can use airplay if you have the latest onkyo receivers. Also you can download the free onkyo app so that you can control your receiver using your apple products

I'm using an old onkyo receiver (705). I won't be able to use airplay.

To get the best posible sound from your ipod to receiver set up, you would need an external DAC. Check out the NuForce iDo (www.nuforce.com).

The set up would be:

ipod touch to nuforce ido to receiver to speakers.

Get an iPod dock with a digital out like the Onkyo NDS1. It should bypass the iPod's DAC and use the ones in the receiver instead.
