if your handy with the soldering iron, check the power supply boards for leaky caps or caps that not in the right shape.. if not bring it to a qualified technician

Check the large caps if intact and no cracks sa bottom, these tend to be on the expensive side. Check mo na rin sa net if may mga parts na unobtainium or unavailable or expensive to be on the safe side. Some models of output transistors were specially made and are no longer in production, I know sa Pioneer meron unobtanium parts, sa Sansui I am not sure

if nag pro-protect malamang may problem sa power supply, but that does not mean na yung lang ang problem.

IMHO, not unless super cheap or super rare yung item, I would not buy if it does not sound, ok lang yung mga, thumps and pops when you flick switches or adjust th evolume control as these can be easily fixed.

Marami pinanggagalingan/sanhi nang nag "protect/clipping", It is possible from main power supply (X-former, E-Cap's, regulator, etc.) - Then Power amp (transistor/IC/Cap's)... Pwede ma-repair yan pero hindi tayo sure kung merun pa avail na parts specially IC's & Transistor's.

Suyurin mo mula sa Power Amp paatras hanggang sa Pre-amp ng power amp.....Baka yung Trimmer din na nagbabago na ng value....

it really depends on the price. if your have a working vintage unit of the same model, sometimes it pays to have a defective unit for spare parts.

yes,, mga bro sansui sa mga tech.. sansunog.. grabe mag sira yan.. kailangan pag nag palit ka ng parts i calibrate pa lalo na yung protec problem.. malimit may detection dc voltge ito sa main amp to out put spkr,, .. para di masunog ang speaker nito.. kina cut nya ang relay papunta sa speaker.. sansui maganda talaga tumunog, malinis pero grabe kung sumira sinusunog ang mga parts.. isa rin to sa dhilan around 80s nadimanda ang sansui comp. gawa ng pti bahay nasunog din.. malapit kase sa kurtina ang unit..habang tumutunog huminto ang music at nkita ng may ari na umaapoy na ang kurtina..matagal na to..di rin po bsta bsta ang repair nto kailangan talaga expert pra sa calibration ng idle curent sa mga out put.. di sya ganun ka simpleng circuit..

Matagal na akong may mga sansui gears pero up to now di pa naman nasisira spkrs ko. Kelangan lng laging nasa kondisyon ang mga gears.

nagkaron din ako ng ganyan..sansunog.. cguro dpa napatyempo ang spkr mo.. kung ma cHEK nyo ang circuit nyan high curent din ang circuit desinged, push pull stage amplifier, dobler pwoer suply.. pag ang electronics componetn nyan ay tumagal ng 10 years isa isa na nag kakaron ng voltage abnormalities, wich is nag kaka leak na ang capacitors, resistor change value at yung bias trimpot nag lose contact at dto sa trimpot nag kakaron ng unbalance dc bias.. sakit yan bro ng sansui...sguro pag vintage na ang amp dapat talaga cgurado ang circuit o wel calibrated,, di naman lage.. bsta yung cguradong di maninira o masunog ang parts.. o dumamay ng stage circuit.. he. he.. kaya nakaktakot din bumili ng vintage kailang handa ka sa gastos sa spare lalo na wala ng nag mamanufacture ng output transistor nyan,, subtitute marami kayalang pag nag init na pumupotuk at lilipad lang ang pera mo.. he he..

mern akong vintage din na pioneer a717 80s model nabili ko ito sa seaman.. magandang tumonog after a mont nasira wala akong makitang orig na parts.. pero naka order din ako ang mahal ngalng siningil ako ng service center ng 3.2k rightchan. ang ncra.. ginamitan sya ng osciliscope at pinakita nya sakin ang waveform kung talagang clibrated.. hanggang ngyn gumgana pa rin.. 2 years na..ang circuit protec ng sansui di ganun ka sensitive minsan huli na bumitaw ang speaker protec relay, sunog na bgo sya bumitaw.. bro cguro swerte ka dyan sa amp. mo he he... tagahanga din ako ng sansui b4....
