Secret!  O0 O0 O0

Anyways pati na wood restoration (on going - hubo ang amp ko ngayun) and inspection from a technician roughly around 10K na, such a little amount for the sound that I was lookin for (I guess somebody might quote me on this but of course we know that it's a highly subjective matter) since I got started in this hobby.   ;D

Have done some cleaning on the knobs & toggle switches (using WD-40 and a hair dryer to get rid of any residue) and faceplate (liquid soap and water then wipe it with 3M microfiber cloth para iwas sa scratch) para di lang maganda ang tunog pati na ang looks, hehehe

The unit should be unplugged when you make the conversion.

In my case, I slid the switch from 100V to 220V when I got my unit over 10 years ago -- tapos ayaw tumunog! I then uncovered the 100v/220v switch plate, removed the wires connected to the 100v terminals and connected them to the 220v terminals.

After completing this process, I realized even the two outlets at the back of the unit are already 220v. Unfortunately, I realized I have already 7 vintage Luxman amps last year so I sold my 220-volt L-505V at a price slightly higher than my acquisition cost.

Here's the undressed unit (yung merong white arrow ang switch)

you let the cat out of the bag, this is a very helpful trick....:D
and inexpensive too....
what i do is clip all leads and sort out the connections for 220 and
make direct connections, the extra joint leads covered with shrink tubing
and ty-wrapped into a neat bundle, so then what comes out is just two
wires for 220 volts...
not all amps can be tweaked like this, it depends on the way the traffo was done,

here is a link of the Theta Tube monoblocks i converted to 220 without a sweat,
http://www.wiredstate.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=26792&start=40

as an aside, Japan domestic models are of better quality than export models.... 8)

Not all Jap domestic amps have hidden switches inside though, even the Luxmans. I have five more Luxmans here: SQ-38FD, 2 units of L-550, 1 unit of L-530, and 1 L-80 Silver Anniversary Edition. All five have fixed 100v power.

But I found out the same trick applies to my Accuphase E-302.

Looking at your L-505v sir sandawa I'm wondering why mine doesn't have that switch.

Can someone help me on figuring out how to wire my unit to 220V, any help will be highly appreciated. :-D
