Bro pag kila akyat sigurado mga 1 pm ang start minsan umaabot ng pass 6pm kung matapos. Eto yung last na sumama ako sa session sa kanila but that was 4 sessions before. Lately ata with the intro of AMX amps mas tumatagal ang session kila akyat.

Palagay ko sabay tumataas naman ang kunsumo ng kuryente ni akyat dito . . . . Bro wala bang entrance fee sa session

whew! ang daming amps.... masasabi ko lang wala kang itatapon, thats why its so hard to dispose of just 1 amp, pati yung kaisa-isang forsale ni bga was pulled out of the market dahil may tinatago palang tamis.... kung gaano kahirap pumili ng top 3 mas lalong mahirap pumili ng bottom 3.... kasi paiba-iba kami ng kanta at sources hehehehe.

there was a suggestion to include the top 3 of round 1 in the next session.... kasi baka tamad na tayo mag final round since narinig na natin lahat..... so parang "oldies & DIY" yung theme ng round 1, and then round 2 is "oldies/DIY vs. new production amps"...... what you guys think?

guys, baka gusto niyo na rin lubusin ang shootout at isama na natin ang mga separates at hybrid, tutal nakasama na yung hybrid gainclone ni master jojo.... lagyan lang natin ng price ceiling, so yung [hafler + contodo] ay pasok na rin kasi nasa price range ng mga new production amps sa list..... kung ganon eh pasok din ang [kenwood/thx + contodo] ko bwehehehehe.

Mga sirs (who attanded the shoot- out),

Pwede po ba malaman who's the best or at least the top 3 performer or at least a review of the strenght or weaknesses of each amp. At least bahala na yung reader. Kasi iba iba naman ang taste sa music ng tao.

Request lang naman po. If somebody is kind enough to share their experience hearing all these amps played. Not everyone of us is lucky enough to be invited or joined the session. And even if the host wants us all to be there, hindi rin naman lalo pwede yun.

i think bgavi's yamaha ax-1200 stood out as expected..... it is remote-controlled (motorized), so it has all the features of new production amps; smooth silver finish and glossy side panels looks elegant; and most of all it sounds musical & muscular at the same time.

john's non-inverted dual-mono gainclone was the smallest and lightest amp, but it had incredible bass -- fast, deep and detailed.

jojo's hybrid gainclone and bgavi's denon 780D were musical in the mids and highs.

just my impressions from very short & informal listening.... we were using all kinds of combinations: 2 CD players, one external DAC, a tube buffer...... it is possible that my impressions were of the source and not of the amp.... plus we played songs on one amp and not on the other, so it was very informal.
