comes from a midi-compo series, accepts only as low as single 6-ohm speakers. not recommended for serious music but good enough for casual  listening.

if it's gold-tone and mint and sells for P3K or less, it 'd be a good buy.

thanks sirs  :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one. I will have some updates from my tech this weekend......

now is a good time to change the driver and power transistors with modern types, lesser chance for getting fakes.
ask your tech about it, a check with newport or oriental for new devices will be worth your trouble and you will be rewarded with a better sounding amp.

finally, i would recommend that you replace all electros along the signal path with new ones, elna, nichicon and or rubycon are fine, they are available from eleshop in raon.
That's OK, you can like or dislike anything you choose. That's the wonderful thing about the freedom

thanks again, sir tony  :)

where in raon is eleshop located? is newport and oriental also located in raon?

btw, naka line-up pa rin amp ko dahil sa backlog ng technician  :(

Hi!

Anybody familiar with Maranz Receivers 4400 and 4300?
Have with me both...
However, my 44OO scope is not working. I think the scope itself is working...the ckt, I have to check...
Anybody, who has experience and can share how to troubleshoot this scope ckt, before I myself try fixing it. A good tip will be of big help :) :) :)

yup, 160 wpc  :) but the rear indicates that it can only be used for 8 ohm loads  :(

guys pls help. My father owns a sansui AUD33. Tried it pero yung red led sa taas ng power switch keep blinking lang. Probably may problem ito or sira since naaalala ko dapat tumigil yun before a sound will come out. Any idea kung san ko pwede patignan and do you think worthy pa ba syang pagawa. Any feedback on this model? Btw, may kasama syang rg7 equalizer, tape deck na i think di na talaga gumagana noon pa and a tuner na medyo sira na rin. k pa bang i revive ko itong gears na ito? Tnx!

LV-109 could be TOTL in Alpine/Luxman line in late '80s but its average Yahoo auction re-sale value in Japan is low at 15,000 yen (same as LV-103u). Here are average quotes in the last three years for other used upscale Luxman units that have appeared or were mentioned on this forum recently, not necessarily TOTL: LV-107u - 30,000 yen,  L-530 - 25,000 yen; L-540 - 50,000 yen and L-570 - 70,000 yen.

But then again, if I saw an LV-109 in good condition and it's priced below five figures, I'd probably buy it. I think it is a good buy for a collector. It could serve as sample of Alpine/Luxman's equipment output since it took over the Luxman brand in early '80s.
