@allan

Sir, I bought theForeplay pre-owned from the PDVD marketplace. It was originally planed to be paired with the Trends Audio TA-10.1. Hooked to a vintage late 60s Pioneer 3 way speakers with 12" woofers, the preaamp+TA-10.1 combo sounded great, better than the Trends TA-10.1 without the pre-amp. As my wife put it, mas malinis tumunog. Then a frined (also a fellow PDVDer) loaned me a tube power amp, a single ended EL34, and to me the all tube combo sounded way better than the Trends TA-10.1+preamp. Up to moderate listening level, the Trends TA-10.1+preamp sounded a bit better overall than the Sony TA-3200F+preamp, but the Sony TA-3200F starts to shine as you crank up the volume. :)

I've been living in Munoz, Nueva Ecija for the last 23 years. And BTW, I'm newbie on this addictive audio hobby. :)

Sir, thanks for the short review.  :) Hope to try a foreplay intg. amp someday!  ;D

I havent encountered an M504 but I have seen an Onkyo Integra M506 at the pier around two years ago and it was sold for P8K.  I was able to buy an Onkyo Integra M506R (newer) elsewhere for P5k before that. Very handsome looking amp with large black meters with green lights. Very powerful amp with two sets of speaker outputs rated at 120wpc. Performance is very much like the Technics SEA 5 also rated at 120wpc

I purchased an Onkyo M506 at Little Chatty's almost 2 years ago. Got it for 8K. I wonder if this is the same one you are referring to. After a year, sold it to a fellow PDVDer. I believe he still has this today.

here it is, though its also sr 9000g it looks quite different from the picture on the net because the wood cover in mine envelopes the cham;pagne face compared with the one one the net where the wood cover does not extend beyond the metal face plate.

am planning to use this for my stereo audio only, mainly from turntable or ipod.

di ba mas matanda pa mga tube gears (mga vintage)type na kinalolokohan ng iba and yet still working ;D?

IMO, before going to tubes all the way, better to hear a nicely maintained vintage SS gear at baka magulat ka or di mo lan talaga matanggap ;D :o ::) dahil kailangan mo sumabay sa uso/fad at gusto ng madlang people. ;D...(not directed at you but in general :)....)

besides, these vintage gems have witnessed the golden era of  audio and somewhat created a cult following from hobbyist and collectors due to their built -like  a  tank &  good SQ reputation.try to browse in audiokarma site, dami naloloko dun sa vintage SS, not only in tube gears.

what can be done is recapping of electrolytic parts (specially those in the psu...) since they have reached  somewhat their lifespan as I understand...however, sa ibang forum (audiokarma),they debate these... for the other parts, transistors, ics etc...with proper design and operating points, they will last many  years (as I undertand from readings...)...baka nga mauna ka pa sa kanila ;D

matibay ang mga yan at hindi pahuhuli sa mga plastic looking new production models.
the circuits in new production models  mostly, are nothing new ...(mostly adapted and sometimes improved upon based from these vintage SS gears...).

maybe, retro is a lifestyle too. some may be attracted with their gleaming thick aluminum knobs, etc. have  some vintage ss gears too, mostly never been touched except for some minor maintenance (pot cleaning, resolder some points, dusting etc) & TLC.trying to play them all  on rotational  basis or depende sa mood for different flavors & characters. appreciate the history, engineering and science in these audio toys.

enjoy  your 'bakal' :)

Actually you have a point sir dana, kelangan lang talaga tayo maging open minded, dati kasi parang naging fixated ako sa tubes, pero when i got the marantz parang it opened up a whole new world of experience for me.

btw diba meron kang heavy duty na sansui? ung kulay dark grey? d ko rin makalimutan ang tunog nun, ang ganda nun, post mo nga pic dito,  ;D
