12.28.2011I've always wanted to upgrade from simple HTIBs into a real audio-video setup but for one reason or another, I always convinced myself to hold off. "I don't really need it right now anyway!" I'd say all the time. Then a couple of weeks ago, while randomly browsing thru PDVD and seeing some great gear on sale, I suddenly had the urge to dive head-first into my oft-delayed project.
Special thanks to CMOS (Henry Rollins was your user name just a few weeks back, I believe) for guiding me on what to look at or get and ultimately, just for being a really helpful member to this newbie (not as much as before, though!).
Forgive the quality of the pictures as they were all taken with my iPhone 4. I just decided after watching a movie that I wanted to share my setup with all of you so I took the camera nearest me and shot away. Perhaps I'll share higher-quality pictures in the future.
TV: Philips 47" HDTV (2D)
Receiver: Pioneer VSX-1020-K (bought from markcrenz)
Speakers: Wharfedale 9.1 | 9.CS | 10.DFS
Subwoofer: Wharfedale SW150
Players: WD TV Live | Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Integrated-Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player
I will probably get speaker stands for the front speakers in the future so that I can put either my XBOX 360 or PS3 or both in there. The Blu-Ray player I just got yesterday so I've been "breaking it in" for pretty much the whole day Tuesday. I like the touch-free sensor on the top of the player to open/close the tray; the built-in WIFI; and the ability to use my iOS devices as a controller.
I think that will be my next purchase - a universal remote for my HT via iOS. I've already looked at a couple but I haven't decided on which would suit me best.
Here are some "While I Was Watching" shots...

That's it for now!
