I believe the question the reporter asked Kobe was  "How would your current team do against the Dream Team?"

His answer was  he did admit the Dream Team had more size but were a lot older as well as at the end of their careers so yeah they could pull it out....and a bit of a smirk at the end.  So it certainly connotes a different meaning than winning a single game against the Dream Team.

haha yup that's where he made the mistake. You got selfish players in the 2012 team (Kobe, anthony and westbrook to name a few) vs. team players in 1992. Dream team will blow them out. One or two guys will not make you win or make you a great team. The question always pop out how dream team players will guard the likes of Lebron, Bryant and Durant. I think we should turn the question around and ask "How will they guard Jordan, Drexler, Ewing, Robinson, Malone and Barkley?", to name a few.

The 1992 dream team is the best team ever assembled in basketball. Period!!

The only way the 2012 team will win against the 1992 team is thru NBA 2k13.  :D Sana they have all the olympic teams there, Olympic tournament mode!!!! That would be fun.

Btw, On Jordan and Barkley's comments. Siempre they got insulted bec. if you look at the 1992 roster, only Bird and Magic are the ones at the tail end of their careers. After 1992 most of these guys still played for the NBA Championship.

Ewing, Robinson, Drexler, Jordan, Pippen, Stockton, Malone, Barkley etc played for the championship. Si Laettner lang ata wala. :D Man palusot lang yan si Kobe.

if you've watched the 2008 Olympics you'll realize that you're wrong. the Team USA in 2008 played great as a team (Kobe and Anthony were members of the 2008 team). sure the 1992 team will beat the 2012 team but I don't think they will play selfishly.

speaking of pippen pupunta pala sila dito ;D

source

Parang Ovation Productions ang promoter nito ah.  :)

why are old men so bitter? lol. everything is blown out of proportion in most forums regarding this dream team debacle.

kobe was asked a simple question, "would you win a game against the dream team?"

kobe as known in the whole world as a competitive athlete would obviously say "yes!"

alangan sabihin nya "we suck compared to them", "we will not win", etc. it does not make sense.

and lastly kobe is always known to be a cocky SOB. ;D and as he said a bad mothaf#$a. everyone just need to chill out. hehe.

Agree with you, sir. Nice topic for a debate. But at some point, the fans will just have to park it and move on because it's never going to be resolved.

MJ, Barkley, Magic - ganyan talaga pag tumatanda na sensitive na at mainit ang ulo ;D

Kobe didn't mean to disrespect these guys.  He was asked a question on whether they can beat the '92 Dream Team.  What response were you expecting from the Mamba?

Masyado naman dinamdam nitong mga Tanders eh. Cool lang kayo.  We will always think highly of you guys.  You were great in your time and we acknowledge that.

I think Bird's response was the best.  Showed class and not at all defensive.  MJ, Barkley, Magic haha I think Kobe really got them there ;D  Nice one Mamba ;D

The real prize of the amnesty-class will be Luis Scola ....... whoever nabs him, will be getting a very decent starting PF.

The SPURS are still under the cap (assuming Duncan's new contract still fits them below the tax line) ...... it would be fitting if Scola plays for the team that originally drafted him.

looks like houston is desperate to trade for him.

Houston is willing to gut their entire team and take on the Magic's bloated salaries. :D

Pippen might not have the strength.  But he can stick to Lebron like glue and has quick hands.

Youtube Video: Scottie Pippen - Ultimate Defender

i would absolutely love to see prime Scottie Pippen vs. 2012 Lebron.   ;)

Pippen is my favorite athletic wing defender of all time, and he can score too!  ;D

sir, you can add Big Baby Davis to that list.  ;)

parang lumipat lang ang Magic franchise sa Houston. and part of the Rockets' D12 offer is their 3 first round draft picks in this year's draft (no.12 Jeremy Lamb, no.16 Royce White, & no.18 Terrence Jones)

while we're at it, here's an interesting article on the Houston Rockets' GM

Wow..the signing of Felton means that NY isn't keen on getting the services of Linn. That's a big loss In terms of gate revenue and merchandise but OTOH Felton is a far superior player than Linn. For me it was a good move by NY.

Haay.. Meron pa naman until Tuesday for the Knicks to decide if they are keeping Lin pero malabo na talaga with the Felton trade.

There's one less fan now for NY and sana makuha na lang din ng Rockets si Howard.

Sayang and during Linsanity, it was the most fun i've had watching the NBA again. First time ko ulit tumapos ng buong game, listening to podcasts, live ESPN radio, and youtube highlights to the max.

If I were Linn I would wish that NY doesn't match the offer sheet that the Rockets gave to him. He will play behind Felton and Kidd if that happens which isn't good for his career. If the Rockets end up with him chances are he will be the starting PG since Lowry and Dragic were both shipped out already.

Great point sir! Baka hindi ma-maximize potential ni Lin pag bumalik siya ng New York. Worldwide na naman fanbase niya kaya kahit saan ok na din lalo na if starting guard pa.

Dion Waiters just looked awful in his first summer league game. He even did one of those patented  C-Webb choke moves. I think the Cavs is gonna regret reaching for him over the likes of Barnes, T-Rob or even Drummond. He didn't even do workouts for anybody and he got picked 4th.  :-\

From The Miami Herald:

### Heat fans should appreciate Ray Allen next season, because there's no assurance he will be here beyond that. Two sources with direct knowledge tell us that Allen’s two-year deal with the Heat includes a $3.2 million player option for 2013-14. So if Allen wants to become a free agent again next July, he can. So can Rashard Lewis, due $1.4 million in 2013-14.

Ray Allen must have really hated Boston.       :D
