This "Dwight Saga" is starting to really get annoying..... >:(

again another classic case of a guy who should've played in college. nice kid but could have benefited from good college coaching

NBA Approves Jersey Ads

oh no...  :(

;D

seriously...

Quote
While no vote was taken on putting advertisements on jerseys for the first time, the discussion in the ballroom inside the Encore hotel on the Strip showed a strong preference to move forward, deputy commissioner Adam Silver said. The final decision will likely come in an e-mail vote in September and be implemented for 2013-14, giving teams the chance to line up sponsors and uniform makers the time to add the patch of 2 ½ inches-by-2 ½ inches just above the heart.

Howard's agent now refutes reports that his client is willing to sign an extension if traded to LA (or any other team for that matter):

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8182883/agent-dwight-howard-sign-extension-team-explore-free-agency

Tuloy ang ligaya...

it's all about the $$$

Quote
The longest Howard could sign an extension, according to ESPN Insider's Larry Coon, would be three years, in either an extend-and-trade or after joining his new team.

If he waits until his current deal expires, Howard would be eligible to sign a new five-year deal for as much as $108 million.

Jordan Hill signed already for LA. Looks like the Lakers are staying put and waiting it out for the Dwight Howard saga. they are slowly but surely making sure of their lineup  for the next season. They don't need to hurry up because if the season starts today they have the second best center in the league which isnt a bad position. It's Orlando who is on a time table. They simply can't start the season with all the uncertainty hanging around the franchise.

Cavs want assurances from Andrew Bynum in potential Dwight Howard trade

The Cleveland Cavaliers are eager partners in the three-way blockbuster trade talks to send Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers, but won’t proceed until the Lakers grant them permission to talk to All-Star Andrew Bynum and his agent about the center’s willingness to sign a contract extension, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

OKC could throw its name into the Howard hopper and offer Kendrick Perkins, James Harden and Eric Maynor in a Howard sign-and-trade with Orlando.

Magic may wait on Howard deal
By Chris Broussard | ESPN The Magazine
Updated: July 24, 2012, 2:06 AM ET

Quote
The Orlando Magic have told rival executives that they might not trade Dwight Howard after all, according to league sources.

An executive who has had discussions with the Magic regarding Howard said Orlando only will trade the star center in a deal that is great for the franchise. The executive said this has been Orlando's stance for the past "week or so."

Another executive who has talked with Orlando said he thinks the Magic may start the season with Howard and wait until the February trade deadline to move him.

It would be better for them to just shut him down the entire year. With the current lineup that they have it doesn't make sense to bring him back for the playoffs and rely on him to produce. Knowing the competitive nature of Rose he will do whatever it's takes for the him to carry his team and it might just lead to him reinjuring his knee.

Fate can really be cruel..just a couple of months ago they were the #1 seed coming in the playoffs and have everything mapped out to go deep in the playoffs with a weak Eastern conference save for Miami and Boston. Rose then popped his knee and there goes that championship hopes of Chicago for the next two years. By the time Rose gets into form who knows if they still have the other pieces to complement him like Boozer, Deng, Noah etc.

parang de ja vu. i remember MJ's second season with the bulls when he got injured early in the season. ayaw siya paglaruin ng bulls management kahit nung gumaling na yung injury niya and he would sneak out to play pick up games. then he came back around playoffs and scored the historical 63 point game in the boston garden. the highest point ever scored by an opponent in the garden and still the highest point scored for a single playoff game.

Very true. That was when Larry Bird announced to the media that Jordan's performance that night was like God himself was playing basketball. Still the Bulls lost that year and they had to endure 6 more seasons of losing in the playoffs before they finally broke through Detroit and LA to win it all.

I wonder if we would sill see the old style of play of DRose post injury. If he loses the speed and athleticism that he has then he will become just an ordinary player. He doesn't even have range at this early stage of his career. Bad things can really happen. Sad to see that it had to happen to a player like Rose but I really hope that he comes back better than ever and challenge the Miami trio just like what Dirk did two years ago.

Spain seems to be holding back somewhat, but the US defense and quickness are making up for its lack of size. Mukang hirap din US sa zone D.
We deserve better.

probably ayaw nila ipakita yung tunay na laro nila and also checking the USA team for any weaknesses. as for the USA team naman gusto ila seryosohin yung laro at ipakita how dominant they are, which is what their opponents want to see para makapagadjust sila sa totoong laban. we must all remember na the US squad is expected to win and in convincing fashion. so the pressure is on them lalo na after nung "controversial" quote from kobe

True. Spain wouldn't gain anything with a victory. But it will be big news if Team USA loses....specially in a warm up game.

Saan mo nabasa yun nagpatalo yun Spain? Wala naman ako nakita  Spain did not play hard enough to win but that does not necessarily mean nagpatalo Spain. Of course they had all intentions of winning  but not at the expense of possible injury. If they can get the victory playing modestly, why not.
