this is the line up of the Wizards? Wow, if Nene and Okafor plays the way they do usually, mukhang may magandang laban din sa East

Thabeet and Ibaka

Yes they got Hasheem. Two teams already gave up on that kid who incidentally was drafted #2 overall. Maybe they can turn him around into the player that he should have been coming into the draft. The only way that they could win against Miami is to get a scoring monster at the center position.....something that Ibaka and Hasheem are far from.

sana magaling coach nila para ma utilize ng husto yung magagaling, di ba si Nene ang lakas when he was with the Niggets ba yun?

if he was drafted number 2 it means he is a very good player right? or is this a case similar to the number one pick during the time of Jordan's draft?

drafted 2nd overall (Charlotte Bobcats) in the 2004 NBA draft.

D12 was selected by Orlando with the 1st pick that same draft year.

you be the judge if parang Lebron ang itsura and porma niya. ;D

i read an article a few weeks before this year's draft, Pistons GM Joe Dumars admitted that they screwed up in drafting Darko. according to him, some people told them Darko is good and they just relied on that without scouting him extensively. ;D

Detroit really screwed that one up when they drafted Darko. They were on the top of the league back then and they could have stayed competitively amongst the elite for years to come had they made the wise move of drafting Carmelo. if that didn't work out for them they could move him to another team in exchange for 3 to 5 quality players just like Denver did. Now look at where Denver is now vs Detroit. Dumars should be beheaded a-la Game of Thrones Ned Stark style for that stupid decision.

What boggles the mind is that they could not have drafted Darko because of need back then primarily because they had Rasheed who was in his prime and Big Ben in his prime as well. Why the heck would they get another center? Prince was in his prime as well and he will have to play the same position as Melo but he could theoretically move to the two spot and that team could have been a powerhouse for years to come had they made the right choice.

Portland could be forgiven for drafting Sam Bowie because they were in dire need of a center and they had a perennial all star in Clyde Drexler in the roster who plays the same position as the guy named Air Jordan. Malas lang talaga at na-injure si Bowie and then he never recovered from it.

not really. some teams draft because of need while some draft because of talent. there are cases as well wherein the player just turned out to be unfit for the NBA mentally and physically hence being classified as a bust like Kwame. di naman na-injure yun eh. talaga lang limited ang skills nya. Ibang usapan din naman pag na-injure yung player and then he never recovered from it.

in draft, its about getting the best available player, wyl n free agency, its about getting the best suited player for your team.. Milicic is probably one of the biggest bust in nba history, top 5 maybe..

+1

that's the usual dilemma for a team entering the draft.. need or best talent available?

i disagree sir. before the annual draft, a team usually evaluates if it needs to fill up certain positions on it's roster or will just draft the best talent available when their turn comes on the drafting order.

the same thing can be said about free agency.

Yeah, I guess.. But for me it's always the best available player in draft, there's always room for talent..

OT. Nice dedicated HT..

okafor is a good player. it was a toss up between him and howard. okafor would have been chosen number 1 but he was somewhat injury prone while dwight was immature and very raw. in the end dwight became number one and he is still immature  :D

Detroit really screwed that one up when they drafted Darko. They were on the top of the league back then and they could have stayed competitively amongst the elite for years to come had they made the wise move of drafting Carmelo.

there have been a llot of busts in nba draft history. you might recall a guy named joe smith who was the first pick in the 95 draft ahead of antonio mcdyess, jerry stackhouse, kevin garnett, damon stoudemire and rasheed wallace just to name a few. smith is a decent role player but he cannot carry a franchise on his back.lebron look-a-like greg oden has yet to prove his worth and the clock's pretty much over for darko and kwame brown. there are a lot of great players who dominated at the college level but failed to make a showing in the nba.

Aside from the obvious HEAT vs. CELTICS match-up .....

I was hoping for opening day games, KNICKS vs. NETS (Battle for NY) and LAKERS vs. CLIPPERS (Battle for LA).

Uy nagpapakundisyon ng husto si Black Mamba, loses 16 lbs.

"...losing muscle mass there could be an issue against bigger defenders. But if it signals part of his willingness to play off-ball with Steve Nash running the show, that could have huge dividends."

exciting to watch how Steve Nash operates with 3 very potent options as his teammates. he never did have this kind of firepower for him to orchestrate.
