Back in the late 80's post Crispa Toyota days, there was an import named Rob Williams who would shoot 3's from everywhere like what KD did here.  Rob Williams would even make a turn around 3 pt shot from mid court.  I don't know kung inabot nyo yun.  Import sya ng Tanduay.

Rob Williams was a great import ...... shooting from almost all areas outside the 3pt line.

IIRC ito yung import na medyo darker than most African-Americans.

Michael Young was another one of the old imports who can make it from anywhere above the half-court line.

Yup ..... one of the best imports during that era ...... him and Caidic were probably the greatest lefty-shooters to play in the PBA.

YUP! Three notable imports of Tanduay were Rob Williams, Kerwin McCoy and David Thirdkill (ex-Celtics). I have met them personally since my uncle was Tanduay's representative to the PBA board...Me and my grandfather had a season pass for all PBA games...

The crop of imports then was much, much better than the imports we have now in the PBA.  Aside from Williams, Mckoy, Bates, Hackett, Michael Young we saw the likes of Francois Wise, Harold Keeling, Sean Chambers, Bobby Parks at madami pang iba.  I miss the old school PBA

Di ko na yata naabutan yung ibang imports  , but among the unforgettable were, Jumping Joward (or Howard) 360, Ronnie Thompkins (shot or block or steal, first time I saw in PBA), Toni Harris (alley oops from Meneses),

ang naaalala ko yung tandem ni bates at hackett ang dominant force dati. dito nga ata nag umpisa yung pambabato ng coins when hackett was called for an inbound violation in a crucial game, ayun umulan tuloy ng coins sa araneta from the ginebra fans

I got to see the PBA debut game of Billy Ray Bates .... LIVE. 

It was a great experience - as even before the game, there was great buzz coming from the press and CRISPA's Danny Floro ...... Bates scored 64pts in his debut game via an array of outside shots, drives and dunks.

Just sad that his life & career went into the dumps, after the PBA ....... Bates is considered among the finest to play for the PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS, but wasn't invited to any team festivities due to his drug and alcohol issues.
