Lakers, Magic in blockbuster four-team trade talks to send Dwight Howard to L.A.
ESPN.com news services | Updated: August 9, 2012, 3:05 PM ET

• The Lakers would receive: Dwight Howard, Al Harrington
• The Magic would receive: Pau Gasol, Arron Affalo, + draft picks
• The 76ers would receive: Andrew Bynum
• The Nuggets would receive: Andre Iguodala

according to Adrian Wojnarowski, there's also a trade scenario which includes Jason Richardson going to the Lakers

Kobe wanted a major overhaul,... I think the management listened to him,...

i bet andrew bynum would have a breakout season if he goes to the sixers.

medyo lugi ata lakers if they let go of pau also. although he has been really soft this past 2 years. iggy + dh12 na lang. hehehe. i wish.  ;D

Correct analysis sir,... Malamya ang naging laro nya the past few years,...

HOOPSWORLD has learned there are variations of the rumored deal being discussed that does not include Gasol but have a similar structure with Bynum to Philadelphia, Iguodala to Denver, Howard to Los Angeles and Afflalo to Orlando.  It’s unclear if Harrington is in that scenario. Additionally the Lakers are said to have Josh McRoberts and Devin Ebanks (via sign and trade) as outgoing salary for a Howard deal.

I still believe in Pau & every team in the NBA still has room for a finesse player like him. Hope he stays, he might have a great season with Captain Canada running the show for the Lakers.

** Somewhat risky trade for the NUGGETS ...... Arron Afflalo is finally finding his groove and looks like a great fit to their young core. Though Igoudala is probably playing the best basketball of his career, he's up for free-agency after the season and is certain to command near max-salary.

Losing Harrington does bring some salary relief, but the guy is still very serviceable and isn't afraid to take the big shots (has decent accuracy with those corner threes) ..... still plays like he has a chip on his shoulder.

** Great for the 76'ers, since they land a prime big ...... but is Bynum willing to extend?

** Pau Gasol should be part of a future trade, as GM Hennigan comes from the school of building-from-the-ground-up ...... maybe, finally commence that trade with HOUSTON, for their rookies.

** In the words of Mark Cuban ..... LAKERS will get the best player out of all of this ..... plus they get future salary relief as well (minus Pau's massive contract and Bynum's new contract).

Scary in what way?

Lebron is a great player naman talaga. Pero parang sobrang sobra ang praise sa kanya that he will be invincible or something. :D

yan ang ayoko dito sa player na to ang laki ng hype. 1 out of 3 ang record niya sa NBA finals. he's had 9 games wherein he scored in single-digits so far including the 8 points he scored against Dallas during last year's championship. unstoppable ba yan?

"One of many notable chokers in basketball in the past was Miami Heat's superstar LeBron James, leading to criticism from most sports analysts, and fans. One of memorable moments were the Miami Heat's loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals, when James averaged 6 points in the 4th quarter the whole series. Lebron's scoring average of 26 ppg fell to a low of 17 ppg, most dropoff in ppg in NBA history."

Regarding the recent D12 trade reports, I guess given the opportunity to acquire the best center in the league right now and the reports that he is open to signing an extension if traded, it makes sense for the Lakers to roll the dice and pull off this trade at the expense of Bynum and Gasol. But given Howard's attitude and injury, the age of the Lakers' starters, and the impact the trade will have on the Lakers' bench, it's really going to be a risky deal.

Assuming the current version of the trade pushes through, I think the Lakers' depth chart will look like this:

PG - Nash / Blake / Johnson-Odom
SG - Bryant / Goudelock?
SF - World Peace / Eyenga?
PF - Harrington / Jamison / McRoberts?
C -  Howard / JHill

Kulang pa 'to, IMO against more athletic teams like OKC.

Yeah! The Lakers as a potential NBA title favorite is close to happening again.  And the dream match up, the much awaited battle between Kobe and Lebron is no longer a far fetched idea.  Hope springs eternal.  Solid ito!!

Si Kenyon Martin din pala interesado ang Lakers.  Binitawan na sya ng Clips pala?  Pero between K Mart and Barbosa I'd rather get Barbosa!

The "Brazilian Blur" is a perfect fit for the upgraded Laker team.

It's a foregone conclusion long before naman.  There will only be one Jordan.  And I think Kobe accepts that.  But the guy just plays his game, period.

And even Jordan himself admitted that Kobe is the only one deserving of the comparison to him.  That's good enough for the Mamba.   A great honor indeed.

Thanks MJ :  http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-news-michael-jordan-says-kobe-deserves-comparisons/2012/01/17/

Kobe haters(which I am not, linawin ko lang) will just say Jordan himself is not good at gauging bball talent. Just look at how he manages the Bobcats, his Drafts and Trades.
...

OKC's road to a repeat Finals appearance will be harder now, but with a declining Kobe and M.Brown leading them sure they'll find a way.

I won't be even suprised if the Lakers still lose e.g. the Laker's line up that lost to Detroit.

Teams will find a way.

Now I still say Miami will Repeat with DWade healthy, Lebron Beasting again(triple doubles, assts going to Jesus Shuttlesworth and Beyoncé Battier)

...and a more fluid Positionless Basketball System that they have over there.

kawawa naman yung mga ibang team, like bobcats, hornets, cavs, pistons, raptors etc..
yung rivalry din ng celtics-lakers parang wala na din, kasi nawala na si allen sa celtics tapos napunta na si howard sa lakers.

at this point parang Miami vs (Lakers or Thunders) ang magkikita sa nba finals

Great article about Kobe.  Indeed, time and age are not on his side.  He can still be great but he needs to "let go".  Read this:

Its has always been like this, other teammates just bailed him out when winning games. The article is just saying what the BBall World has already said before (even Phil Jackson)...

"Be Like LeBron".  ;D

Lakers just acquired Howard without giving up Gasol.

Waiting for stern to nix deal due to basketball reasons.
