MJ was still pretty efficient though at an "old age".  Didn't need to jack up 30-35 shots.

The primary purpose of the salary cap used to be protecting teams from players being pirated by others under the cap. So teams are allowed to retain their own players signing them regardless of cap space.

But because na uso na yun sign and trade, the cap now is used to circumvent the actual spirit of why the salary cap was established.

The owners and managers of the Lakers have built themselves a respectable reputation of being good businessmen.  I am certain they have made business moves to offset the tax hit.  It's what billionaires do, Paul Stoddart of European aviation was getting hit left, right and center with taxes to his Airline business, what does he do? He buys part of a Formula one team and declares it as an expense of the Airline.  So instead of paying the huge taxes it went to another business venture.

It's not necessarily about winning, sir. It has a lot to do more about factors like "market size" and "metro area population", "#of TV Homes", etc. That's why teams like the Knicks can still be one the worst in the 2000's, and still afford to be fiscally irresponsible. Those cities are goldmines. As opposed to some of the "winningest" small market teams in the 2000's the like the Spurs and Jazz. Winning didn't exactly transform those teams into marketing powerhouses.

When Miami pulled the move for their big 3, they said there were a lot of haters, now that the shoe is on the other foot, who's hating now?

I guess from a fans perspective it's just simply normal human behavior to justify why the team that they are rooting for will succeed over the other.

Special lang talaga yung ginawa ng Miami before that's why people hated them....from LeBron leaving Cleveland up in the air to that inaugural introduction party to announcing that they will win not one but......you know the drift. Madaming nayabangan sa kanila that why when they got up ended by Dallas on their inaugural season they were severely criticized by a lot of people but hats off to them for their determination to get things done. LeBron matured and grew up a lot after that year and now he has delivered.

Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf doesn't want to pay the luxury tax (he never did since he bought the team in 1985)

the front office remodeled the "bench mob" by getting rid of Korver, Brewer, Watson, JL3, and Asik

though they added Belinelli, Radmanovic, Nazr Mohammed, and Nate Robinson

The owners and managers of the Lakers have built themselves a respectable reputation of being good businessmen.

[Youtube Video] ESPNLA.com: Mitch Kupchak on Howard, Buss family

"But when it comes down to it, Dr. Buss is a very competitive owner, and his family is also very competitive. And when it comes down to making a decision about a couple dollars or a million dollars or 10 million dollars or putting another banner up? He can't help himself. He chooses to go for the banner."

Yun nga sir ang problema, KURIPOT itong si Jerry,... Puro mga second hand players yata yan eh,.. Hehehe

About DRose, I'm just hoping makabalik pa sya sa dati nyang galaw at liksi, baka mag-iingat na yan,
kumbaga sa isang bote, may lamat na,... He's still young, too bad grabe ang injuri kaagad na sinapit nya...
I just hope he recovers fully, malayo pa dapat ang mararating nya,...

There was a rather entertaining assertion    ;D  that it's unfair for Lebron to be compared to Michael Jordan considering both play different positions.

So he should be compared to other small/shooting forwards or those who play the 3.  But is Lebron even the best small forward in NBA history?

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/lists/Top-10-small-forwards-in-NBA-history#tab=photo-title=No+small+feat&photo=31271517

Apparently not.  Before being hailed as the GOAT, he should be the greatest small forward first.  He might eventually get more titles and MVP awards.  But there are some accomplishments by the no. 1 player that Lebron will never get ever.
