intriguing kung san mapupunta si CP3 next season. since ni refuse na nya yung extension with clippers so mukhang aalis na sya dun.

it's also a strategy to negotiate and secure a more lucrative contract compared to signing an extension outright.

Kobe cruising on his $300k Ferrari 458 Italia

Quote
Kobe Bryant can afford a $300k Ferrari ... but for some reason, the NBA star hasn't sprung for a hands-free device for his cell phone.

Bryant was cruising down the 405 Freeway yesterday ... steering through traffic while yakking away on his hand-held cell phone ... a major no-no in the state of California.

In fact, Kobe's lucky he wasn't spotted by the CHP -- 'cause a talking-while-driving ticket usually runs around $159 for the first offense ... and $279 for subsequent violations.

We're sure he can afford the ticket ... but you can't put a price on safety.

Nah, if you notice the hand seems to be big the palm can cover almost half of his face so maybe whole arm was the handsfree kit that comes with the ferrari .... hehehe.

The superstars basically finish their contracts, sign-up for a new contract rather than an extension ..... which guarantees them max-money and max-years.

CP3 is likely treating this upcoming season as a make-or-break-audition for the CLIPPERS ..... if they go very deep and contend, he'll probably re-sign the next offseason.

On the flipside, should the LAKERS, THUNDER or SPURS run roughshod over the CLIPPERS this year ..... he might opt to join the next NBA avengers team instead (I'd say go East, since it's still clearly the inferior half of the NBA).

Actually nagtataka ako dyan eh, game shots ni rondo sablay, pero nung nag HORSE game sila ni durant and Casppi, maayos naman shooting nya, sumasabay kay durant.  Ganon siguro katindi ang pressure and defense sa nba for him to miss gimme jumpers.

I have always considered Rondo's shooting mechanics best suited for set shots rather than in game or in transition set ups.  Hindi kasi considered na quick release.

Exactly ..... some guys just need to have their feet set right, to get off their ideal release.

Can't imagine the beast that Rondo would be, if he had a CP3-like jumper.

Easily a 25-10-12 guy. Opposing Teams right now are sagging off on Rondo because of his unreliable jump shot. They are daring him to take the outside shot.

I remember Tony Parker having the same problem and given the same shots by teams during Duncan's salad days, then came Spurs asst. coach Chip Engelland.  After one summer of intense training, parkers shooting was more reliable and just kept on improving...and before any of us knew it, the spurs have 4 championship rings and a number of best reg. season records in a VERY tough western conference.

Ya... Parker is the ideal model to follow for Rondo.  However the very basic mechanic of Rondo's shot is faulted.  His shot consists of putting the ball beside his head and steadily and smoothly rolling the ball in his palm and released through the fingertips..  Such a shot requires your feet be set and time to release.  The NBA defense is so good that it won't let you set your routine.  Parker has perfected the catch/dribble and shoot....just let it fly.

To add to that, Rondo's hands are uncommonly huge for his height. That is why the ball sticks to his hand like glue and he can easily command the ball from his fingertips. The downside is that it is very difficult for him to shoot the ball properly (ala Shaq).

I cannot agree with you more, however i think there is hope...Reggie miller probably has the worst follow through, it snaps towars his left hand and Peja Stojakovic has a corkscrew release naman.  If those two shooters can have a fundamentally flawed mechanic but be excellent shooters, maybe rondo can be a decent enough shooter not to be left alone. Even ray allen is fundamentally flawed, his ball flight has no rotation, its close to flat.  Shooting coach lang kailangan nyan para umayos.

Yup, Miller and Peja had some unorthodox shot releases / follow-throughs ..... both way consistent though ...... always shoots the same way.

In local hoops, some great shooters with unorthodox shots I can recall ...... Leo Austria (ball coming from behind his head) ....... Jojo Lastimosa (twirl motion prior to release) ....... Naning Valenciano (all-arm, push shot).

Unorthodox indeed.  One thing common about them though is no matter how weird their shots look, Miller, Peja and Allen have quick shot releases.  Rondo's shot seems to be the opposite.  Also Rondo seems to have that little hop before releasing a shot.  Looks like he needs to plant both feet before letting the rock go.

Great list of unorthodox shooters there.  I remember 2k games mimicking all of them on the PlayStation.   ;D
