Jaworksi is a bigtime upgrade from Brown :-)

with big men like DH and PG, and aging KB. I doubt LA could benefit from the run n gun system

Actually, DH and Pau are big men who can run the floor. They're not like Shaq.haha. Problem is Metta World Peace.

I guess we'll have to see what pringle has in store for us. Most of friends' reaction is dismay over the fact that the Lakers did not agree to Phil Jackson's terms. A little bit over the top din kasi hinihingi ni Phil. Mitch said that money was not an issue. But I guess giving more power to Phil was an issue. :D

Kaya ba ni Mr Pringles? Eto ang biggest concern ko...

"Will D'Antoni's system work with mediocre role players surrounding the stars?

This is the biggest piece of the puzzle that doesn't quite fit with D'Antoni. The bench stinks and hasn't shown much in terms of potential to be good through the first five games. D'Antoni's teams in Phoenix and New York had shooters surrounding the stars. There isn't a young Joe Johnson or Eddie House or JR Smith or Setve Novak to be found on this Lakers' roster.

There is Antawn Jamison. There is Devin Ebanks. There is Darius Morris. You're not finding “capable” shooters, outside of Bryant, Jodie Meeks and Nash. The Lakers are currently 15th in the NBA in 3-point accuracy, but there are plenty of teams below them with better shooters who have been off to a slow start. Can the Lakers be a team in the top half of the league in outside shooting?

Can Jamison and Jordan Hill give them productive minutes off the bench in a scoring role with this system? Can Steve Blake be good enough to spell Nash when he returns and run this controlled chaos? Will World Peace still take more than nine shots per game?
"

IMO, Lakers will get one more 3 point shooter as the last piece of their puzzle.

MWP is always lost during the regular season games but he should come through sa playoffs, so not really worried about him. DH and PG can run but its not really their strengths though.

Naku, nag bike lang ako, meron na pala sinign na coach.  Medyo surprised, I thought PJ was a lock, but I guess, the Buss family cannot cede power and control that much, ok na rin..

Kaya lang Potato Head, di ba pareho lang ngpringles yon?

Anyway, I put my trust in the organization, magkamali man sila, madalang lang.  A kung magkamali man, mabilis silang gumawa ng paraan.  Hoping it goes well.

I'm surprised Lakers quickly settled on D'Antoni.  Sure they would be fun to watch.  But I doubt it translates to a title.  I don't think the personnel the Lakers have compliment his system.

You think the defense was bad.... wait til D'Antoni settles in.   ;D

I think the personnel D'Antoni have is excellent for him. I think his knowledge on "D" is actually underrated.

Okay, it has sunk in in me.

I'm actually excited for the Lakers.  I think under Mike D' Pringles, it's gonna be high octane offense for LA.  I think Showtime will be back.  Bring on your ice cold beer and Pringles, Laker fans...

Defense?  That's a big question.  Still remains to be seen...

^ Defense? Dati sa PHx, I think he handled that with guys like Marion and Raja Bell. I know Stoudemire refused to play some D etc. When they got shaq, he was old etc unluckily.

Sa new york, he was doing fine with Shumps and Chandler imho then... Ca[nce]rmelo Anthony happened. :D

I just don't know if it would be exciting or hilarious seeing those 30 year old or so Laker players running around the court constantly for 48mins.   ;D

And with Steve Blake at the helm.  Or wait til the 38yr old Nash returns.

Probably they looked at it this way...if the current roster of LA struggled to grasp the Princeton offense then what more the Triangle in mid season at that? We gotta remember that only a handful of players are left from Phil Jax last season with LA and two starters namely Howard and Nash will have to learn the system from scratch.  Now by getting Pringles they are assured of getting the most out of Nash since its going to be a sure bet that Pringles will hand the keys to the offense to Nash. It would be interesting to see how he will utilize Howard, Gasol and of course the Mamba.

One problem though....DAntoni is currently injured just like his main pupil Nash and won't be able to start on his new job for the next couple of games. He just had a surgery a couple of weeks back.

I wonder what Phil Jax asked ffrom the LA Management in terms of "control"so much so that they decided to get Pringles instead.

For Pringles simple lang naman ang basketball...paramihan ng points. If the opposing team makes 100 then all that they need is to score 101 points to win. One thing is for sure....expect to see the Lakers average 110ppg... ;D

@ZachLowe_NBA: People who say MDA Suns were awful defensively are just wrong. They were average w/ Amare mostly at C. Average is not great, also not awful.

Sir hindi yata si PJ ang nag-decline,...
According to the news, umayaw ang management at medyo mataas daw ang hinihingi ni PJ,
which includes shares sa Lakers,...

Very excited to watch D'Antoni transform the Lakers into a run and gun team with Nash spear heading their attacks.
Big question: Hindi ba sayang yun height and heft advantage nila Gasol and DH over other opposing teams should the Lakers play up tempo games?
In my point of view, teams composing of small players use speed mainly to offset height advantage of opposing teams.

The best style that suits the Lakers current line up is to play the San Antonio style of a game.
Slow, boring, deliberate type so they can maximize the height advantage of Gasol and DH and just surround them with shooters with Bryant slashing to the basket every now and then.
