If Kobe was a ballhog, so is Michael Jordan ;D

Wala sila sa kabakawan ni Jack Taylor...138 pts in 108 attempts  ;D

Grinnell's Taylor pours in NCAA-record 138 points

sophomore guard for Grinnell, scored 138 points tonight in the Pioneers' 179-104 pasting of Faith Baptist Bible. Taylor shot 52-for-108 from the floor, 27-for-71 from three-point range and 7-for-10 from the line to knock Rio Grande's Bevo Francis and his 113 points, from the record book.

If Kobe was a ballhog, so is Michael Jordan ;D

Lesson of the story :  It's OK to be a ball hog ;D  Result?  6 rings for MJ.  5 (going 6) for Kobe.

Yeah but MJ was a 6-time Finals MVP and a 5-time regular season MVP.  And Kobe is......

It's uncontested that MJ was always the best player for his team in his entire career.  So I don't think it's even a fair comparison.

Down the wire. Wouldn't have been the case if only LA made more FTs. >:(

Lakers escapes with a horrible 19 of 37 FT shooting!  They defended well though.  And Brooklyn kept shooting blanks, that's why.

If they made all 18 missed FTs they could have made 113 PTS which is their target per game ;)

Great first win by Lakers with MDA in the bench.

-----------

Nice trash talking between Gerard Wallace and Kobe when Kobe was taking pressure packed FTs.  Parang naalala ko MJ and Mutombo.  Great entertainment eh?

After all the talk that MD'Antoni and Lakers can't play defense, they just won the game earlier because of that : Good D vs one of the best offensive team in the league.  Especially in the fourth quarter.  'Nuff said about that.

---

Video :  Wallace trying to distract Kobe on the FT then Kobe trash talks Wallace ;)  What was Wallace thinking?  Kobe is way too gooood to be distracted.  Damn this Wallace ...

I was one of the person's here on this thread who says D'Antoni "can" play defense.

I think the personnel D'Antoni have is excellent for him. I think his knowledge on "D" is actually underrated.
Eddie Jordan should be next to go... Away. ^_^

^ Defense? Dati sa PHx, I think he handled that with guys like Marion and Raja Bell. I know Stoudemire refused to play some D etc. When they got shaq, he was old etc unluckily.

Sa new york, he was doing fine with Shumps and Chandler imho then... Ca[nce]rmelo Anthony happened. :D

See?

you can't blame the lakers if they are one if not the most famous team in the nba.

Jeezuz! I am pretty dissapointed that we have to question a head coach's impact on a game like we havent played basketball on a serious level.

Wala sila sa kabakawan ni Jack Taylor...138 pts in 108 attempts  ;D

Yes!  Who says a ballhog is evil??? Damn.  Because, ika nga ni Uncle Drew, it's all about BUCKETS.
Here's what Kobe has to say(cbssports.com) and I agree 100%.

After Jack Taylor's 138-point volume omnipresent Galactus-The-World-Devouring shooting performance Tuesday night, reporters asked the modern day king of scoring, Kobe Bryant, his thoughts on Taylor's performance. From ESPN LA's Dave McMenamin:

Reporter: Kobe, a college kid scored 138 points tonight and took over 100 shots ...

Bryant: "Wow ... No kidding? Where?"

    Reporter: Grinnell college in Iowa.

Bryant: "Really? Wow. That's impressive. That's crazy. I don't care what level you're at. Scoring 138 points is pretty insane. How many 3s did he shoot?"

    Reporter: 71.

Bryant: "Holy sh--. How many points did they score as a team?"

    Reporter: 179.

    Bryant: "What?!"

Reporter: No other starter had double figures.

    Bryant: "That's incredible."

Reporter: Dude on the other team scored 71 points and lost.

Bryant: "That's amazing. He must have been wearing the Mambas, man. Only Mambas have no conscience to shoot the ball like that."

Reporter: If you did that, would people be celebrating you?

Bryant: "Would people be celebrating me if I scored 138 points? You know how it is, some people would, some people wouldn't. They can all kiss my a-- as I'm sure he feels the same way. If you score 138 points, you kind of have a license to tell people to f--- off.

AMEN TO YOU.

"If you still think the Lakers can't smother an opponent defensively, you're off your rocker. The defense was phenomenal when it needed to be Tuesday night."

It's waaaaaay too early in the season pa for anything. Hopefully, no meaningful players get injured until the end of the season. I, for one, think 82 games is pretty darn long. They should shorten a season and make sure players are still at their peak form come playoffs.
