Commentators also said the same thing.  That Nash take the 3.  Mahirap talaga yun isolation then fadeaway 3.  If it went in, that would be a spectacular shot.

Dapat yata pick and pop or kick out sa corner 3.

Petition: SAC and SEA both deserve NBA teams
Basketball fans should not have to choose between Sacramento and Seattle. Both of these cities have proven their worth in the best of times and in the worst of times. It is time for David Stern and the NBA owners to right one wrong and prevent another. If the team is available for purchase, it is time for a Sacramento buyer to be granted an opportunity to match any offer the Maloofs extend to potential buyers. It is time for Seattle to be granted a new expansion team for the 2015-16 season. Seattle deserves a team after what happened to their Sonics. Sacramento deserves to keep the Kings in Sacramento after supporting the franchise for more than a quarter century and putting together a viable arena financing plan last year. Sacramento has one of the most passionate fan bases in NBA history, which is illustrated in the above documentary, Small Market, Big Heart. #HereWeStayNBA #LetUsMatch

Yes I'd go with Nash.  Kahit mas magaling si Nash pag open shot but he has a higher percentage than Kobe.

Kobe rarely makes a winning shot or game tying shot.  Kobe is better at "dagger shots" meaning when opposing team is rallying, Kobe makes a lot of those dagger shots for LA.  But winning shots?  Rarely.

But can't blame any Laker coach.  They'd win or lose with Kobe.

I disagree. As much as I hate Kobe, he's one of the most clutch player. I think it was just 2 years ago when he had so many game winners.

First off, I am a Kobe fan and a Laker fan.  But based on stats, Kobe sucks as a clutch player compared to, who else, Jordan when it comes to game winning or game tying shot which is defined as follows:

"Game winning/game tying shot definition - Shot attempts made with the intent to either win or tie the game within the final 24 seconds, during which a player's team is either tied or trails by three or fewer points -- or in other words, a one-possession game."

Sadly, Kobe right now is 0-7 since 2007 in the last ten seconds of the game for game winning/game tying shots in the playoffs.  I said playoffs, not season, for obvious reasons.

And, looking at Kobe's career he has made 7 out of 25 game winning/tying shots in the playoffs which is roughly 28% success rate.  Pag sinama ko pa ang season, I am sure mas mababa pa ang average because Kobe takes more attempts than anybody.  Jordan on the other hand has a batting average of 50% ( 9 out 18 game winning/tying shots ).

Below is a breakdown of game winning/game tying shot attempt throughout Kobe Bryant’s 15 year career:
1996    Utah Jazz    Game 5    Miss    Bryant misses a game tying shot with 4 seconds left.
1999    San Antonio Spurs    Game 2    Miss    Bryant misses a game tying shot at the end of regulation
2000    Phoenix Suns    Game 2    Make    Bryant makes a game winning shot with 2 seconds left
2001    Philidephia 76ers    Game 1    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 20 seconds left.
2002    San Antonio Spurs    Game 2    Miss    Bryant misses a game tying shot at regulation
2002    San Antonio Spurs    Game 4    Make    Bryant makes a game winning shot with 5 seconds left
2002    Sacramento Kings    Game 4    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 4 seconds left
2002    Sacramento Kings    Game 5    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 8 seconds left
2002    Sacramento Kings    Game 7    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning tip shot with 8 seconds left
2003    Minnesota Timberwolves    Game 3    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot in OT with 13 seconds left.
2003    Minnesota Timberwolves    Game 3    Miss    Bryant misses a game tying shot in OT with 2 seconds left
2003    San Antonio Spurs    Game 1    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 13 seconds left.
2004    Houston Rockets    Game 1    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 17 seconds left.
2004    Houston Rockets    Game 4    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 3 seconds left.
2004    San Antonio Spurs    Game 5    Make    Bryant makes a game winning shot attempt with 12 seconds left.
2004    Detroit Pistons    Game 2    Make    Bryant makes a game tying shot at the buzzer.
2006    Phoenix Suns    Game 4    Make    Bryant makes a game tying shot with one second left.
2006    Phoenix Suns    Game 4    Make    Bryant makes a game winning shot at the buzzer.
2006    Phoenix Suns    Game 6    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 6 seconds left.
2008    San Antonio Spurs    Game 1    Make    Bryant makes the game winning shot with 23 seconds left.
2009    Utah Jazz    Game 3    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 2 seconds left.
2009    Orlando Magic    Game 2    Miss    Bryant has his game winning shot blocked with 8 sec left.
2010    Oklahoma City Thunder    Game 6    Miss    Bryant misses game winning shot with .5 seconds left.
2010    Phoenix Suns    Game 5    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot with 3 seconds left.
2011    Dallas Mavericks    Game 1    Miss    Bryant misses a game winning shot at the end of regulation

Mas mataas pa ang average ni Lebron James which is 5 of 12 (42%)  but then again, LBJ will make a winning play more than a winning shot, meaning if the right play is a pass to an open teammate, he'd rather pass than force a winning shot , so ibang usapan si LBJ.

Again, no offense to Kobe fans.  I am a huge fan myself.  When he retires, Kobe can very well be one of the top 5 players of all time.  But come clutch time, I'd rather look for an open Steve Nash to make a winning shot.

But Kobe is a master of the Dagger Shot, where Lakers are up 1 or more and opposing team is threatening, then the Mamba hits a dagger in a cold blooded, merciless fashion like this one :

and this one lately vs the Nuggets

It is because kobe takes all the shots. so winning and losing is all based on his hands. More often than not nananalo ang lakers because of its supporting cast.

How many game winners has nash hit?

There's 4 game winners in youtube.  But man, how many has he attempted?  Maybe 4 also?  So the guy's a 100% in game winners (hahaha) but most often kasi, the ball doesn't end up on his hands in those situations. Most often, you'd look for Wade, Anthony, Dirk, Kobe in clutch situations.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTYvV3oS1bc : Nash's latest game winner 04/04/12 vs Utah

Again, here's another sad stat for Kobe fans :

"and then we get to Kobe Bryant. Kobe fans don't like to hear it, but while their man is #4 in the league in total game winners hit, he holds the top spot in a less glamorous category: most game winning opportunity missed shots!"

42 - Kobe :'(
35 - Vince Carter
33 - Joe Johnson, LeBron
32 - Crawford
31 - Billups

Talking about clutch players, I really like CP3 and I think he has made some pretty good clutch shots.

Nash kasi is not primarily a shot maker, the 2-guards usually have more weapoms kaya less attempts ang PG.  Well it boils down to how much you trust the player and how willing the player is to take a shot.  Those are just stats to players.  Besides, every team would have at least wanted to have a shot at winning it or tying it but lost than to have never  had the chance at all.  In the end, the guy still has 5 rings and striving for more.

Lakers and Kobe fan through and through... :)

But, even before the start of the season, I've kinda accepted that this season is more of a hit or miss season...leaning more to the miss, actually. Hehe. So, parang di ako masyadong affected sa mga talo nila right now.

Still, Go Lakers!!!

When you talk about crunch time kasi ang daming factor, so its not just the clutch shot that matters, its the clutch play that does be it on offense or defense and yung mental state ng stars kakaiba naman talaga.  If you would remember paul westphal's genious play when he called a time out and they were 1 pt down with 1 sec remaining and no t.o, at that time the league rule was award the t.o but you get a technical called, so he called time, the went down 2, but because of the t.o they were able to advance the ball and tie the game with 1 sec remaining, extending the game for a third time.

Hell, Derek Fisher is more clutch than Kobe.  Think about how many times Derek has bailed out the Lakers and in a more dramatic fashion than Kobe.  Okay, I got the regular season game winning stats of Kobe -- it's 29 of 90. How is that clutch?

Now that the Lakers have a Steve Nash, maybe they can make him an option in clutch situations.  As one commentator said earlier, the wiser option was to go for Steve Nash for the final shot.  I agree.

Again, Kobe is a great player.  I adore the guy. Kabado lang ako palagi pag sya ang gagawa ng winning shot.

When they didn't win a single pre season game, I kinda sense it's gonna be another short season for the Lakers.  Akala ko pakagat lang.  Oh well, ganyan talaga.

Mas kabado ako kung kalaban ako ni kobe at sya yung titira, kasi sigurado ako si kobe hindi kabado, to him the last shot is like the first shot of the game, its all normal to him.  Besides, usually naman sya din dahilan kung bakit may chansa sila sa dulo eh kaya sya talaga titira non.

I am sure si Kobe walang kaba.  Nanginginig pa na sya ang magpapanalo ng game.  After taking what, close to a hundred winning shots, kakabahan pa ba yan?  Sus, he eats and breathes taking buckets 24/7.  But missing 70% of that sorry talagang kakabahan pa rin ako as a Laker fan.  No amount of talk can make me change that.  Kobe should start making MORE game winning shots before I defer to him as the ultimate clutch player.  Sana kanina inumpisahan na nya kaso mintis pa rin eh.  As usual, TALO pag si Mamba ang tumikada ng game winner.

All throughout his career, the one thing Kobe has done so consistently is shoot the ball. Almost every adjective you can think of that can be attached to the word "shot", Kobe has done it. Easy, difficult, big, crazy, stupid, magical, impossible, clutch, forced. Kobe has done that all. Asking him to change the way he plays or commenting on his shot selection is already pointless to me. He's on his 17th season and there is no way he'll stop shooting.

If you guys don't remember, Kobe is the guy who shot 4 air balls down the stretch in a close do-or-die playoff game vs Utah during his rookie season. Shaq commented later that Kobe "was the only guy who had the guts at the time to take shots like that."

No matter how unsuccessful Kobe is stats-wise in game winners, the Lakers will always go to him because he's the guy who'll always have the guts to take shots like that. No matter what the result is.
