Kevin Durant notched a career-high today: 52 points, for a road win at DAL. So far an NBA season-high too. What's equally staggering is the 21-for-21 FTs! Hands down, he's the best offensive talent in the NBA today. Really wouldn't mind seeing him back in the Finals and getting a ring.

* * *

Lots of trade rumors today too: Utah possibly breaking up their frontcourt of Jefferson and Milsap (somehow I sense Boston is going to make a run at Jefferson).. Rudy Gay.. Josh Smith.. JJ Hickson..

And this tense exchange in the press between D'Antoni and Gasol about whether or not he should come off the bench is really beginning to sound like a prelude to Gasol's exit from LA...

This would be a big blow to the Lakers team considering that theyre not performing well

Here's what Magic Johnson has to say about Gasol.  I think Magic's right.  He's one of the best players to ever play the game and he knows what's he's talking about.

It's a pity Gasol is being used as a scapegoat for the Lakers' woes.  While certainly under performing, he is not the sole reason LA is struggling.  There's a plethora of guilt across the whole organization.  Gasol is always being thrown under the bus.

Gasol will have the last laugh if he will be traded and then he regains his confidence and productivity. He is under contract till next season and due to his declining numbers and monster salary it will be tough to trade him for equal value.

Phil Jax would have loved to coach this team. It's a pity LA management made a complete blunder.

It will be better for the Lakers to just get enough wins for the 8th and last spot for the playoffs.
That way, they can still be fresh when playing OKC in the 1st round rather than worn out playing them in the western finals if makatsamba.

sa kangkungan na lang talaga sila pupulutin this season. next season na lang ulit. haha

18-28 yan pagtapos ng January, tancha ko. that should put them out of the running for the 8th spot. mas gugustuhin ko na yung di makapasok ng playoffs kesa mapanood silang lampasuhin ng Thunder or Clippers sa first round. hahaha

this number should decrease faster if the teams gunning for the 8th spot start winning more than the Lakers. hehe

if Dallas starts winning and the Lakers keep on losing, it's really over.

haha if we make decisions on a per-game basis, sure. every time na 10/32 field goals si Kobe, itrade na yan. hahaa

seriously though, the problem is not Kobe. Team chemistry and the system. it just doesn't fit.

Well mukhang hindi pwede pagsabayin si howard and kobe. both of these two stars really want to shoot the ball. the problem with kobe is sobrang bwaya. ang problem naman kay DH12 e sobrang palpak sa free throw kaya hindi mo pwede ipasok sa close game si howard pag humahabol LAL. tapos si kobe naman parang tamad na mag defend.

Raptors is one of the opponents you need to beat, lalo na if you are naghahabol sa 8th spot >:(  Sama naman ng gising ko kanina madaling araw.  Pagcheck ko ng internet, OLATS.  Huwaw!

---

Sayang, DH12 got ejected before the 2nd half.  I saw the highlights, parang hindi naman over the top to merit a technical foul.  Tama ba?

Bryant made 10 of 32 shots, including 3 of 12 on 3-pointers, and complained the "heavy legs" had dulled his shooting effort.

"I've just got to rest my legs," he said. "My legs are a little tired. My shots are just short. That's on me. I'll take this loss on me, gladly. There were a lot of easy shots, a lot of them, that I should have put down.

It's because D'Antoni declared him the as top Defensive man of the team (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/21577231/dantoni-kobe-will-defend-primary-scorers-for-rest-of-the-season!)  Pag may edad ka na, mahirap dumipensa tapos ikaw pa iiskor.

ewan ko ba dyan bakit pinipilit nya ilayo si gasol sa basket at gusto nya maging jump shooter, eh di ba nung huling meeting ng usa and spain last year eh hirap na hirap yun all star team ng u.s. contain si gasol playing center!

Well if the shot is not falling, why still jack them up?  Do something else to contribute to the team. Even Calderon who probably is the most unathletic, shortest and slowest player on the floor had 22pts on only 15 shot attempts.

Jumpers are not falling, so at least try to get to the line.  What do they say about a person trying to do the same thing over and over again even with no success and expects a different result?    ;D

But isnt it also true that if you are a shooter and your role is to score, coaches will tell you to keep shooting because that is what you are supposed to do.
