kobe can get off anytime if he wants to score, that makes him very dangerous if he decides to become a playmaker since he always attracts double times. kaya sobrang effective yung mga drive and dish nya.

guys defending kobe was just stupid, there is no way in that position he can shoot ;D
great game for kobe nonetheless.  :)

Naah, I think Kobe for a slight moment wanted to do a Dr J behind the glass shot and then decided to dish like Magic.  Hell, that's the new "Magic" Bryant for you bro...

For a guy who kept shooting for 17 years, e kahit yata nasaan si Kobe at tumaas ang kamay siguradong may defender na kakagat.  Maganda sinabi ni D'Antoni  - "One on one's (for Kobe) are OK.  It's the One on Twos and One on Threes that gets us in trouble.... I hope Kobe continues to facilitate and do the right plays..."

Passing was really Kobe's intention in that play. If you have the video of that play, you can see that Kobe never looked up at the basket. As he was driving, his eyes were on Thabeet. He knew Howard was going to be open. When he jumped, he sort of double-pumped so that Thabeet would fully commit. Then his eyes were looking to his right making Collison think that he was going to pass it there. It was pretty good defense until Collison decided to go to his left to prevent a kick out. That created an opening between him and Thabeet that allowed Kobe to locate Howard.

I really think DH12 is NOT HAPPY with the Lakers.  I think he is not in exerting enough effort.  I think he still wants to be the first option in offense, not Kobe.  That's why I can feel a trade is happening before Feb. 21.  I saw Jay-Z at the Staples Center. I mean, what's he doing there?  He might be having some talks with Lakers management for a Brook-DH12 trade.  That, IMO, makes a lot of sense.  It's a win-win situation.  DH12 get to go to the team that he loves.  Lakers get a more willing player in the person of Brook Lopez.  And Kobe doesn't get to share the limelight with someone else.  DH12 will be a rockstar at Brooklyn.  In LA, did he get booed several times by LA fans?

not sure if LA wants the trade. when they got DH it looks they want to build the future around him.

DH12 will be a free agent at the end of the season.  So if he decides to leave, Lakers get nothing.  At the rate he's playing, do you think he'll renew contract?  With all those bickerings with Kobe?  I don't think DH12 is happy seeing Kobe as hero. He wants to be like Shaq, or the guy who will HELP Kobe get his 6th ring.  Gusto sya bida.  In the last emotional win vs OKC, DH12 was a non factor with only 8 points and 12 rebounds. Mas factor pa si Gasol. I and I dont think he likes that.   He's not getting the ball as often as he wants to.  So I think, and sa akin lang naman ito, the guy will continue to be a liability (feigning sickness or whatnot) para ma i trade na sya.  That's how I see him everytime I watch him play with the Lakers.

I agree. It's better to trade him now or get nothing in return when he leaves via free agency.

The Lakers has Dwight's bird rights naman e. Surely the Lakers can offer him 1 more year than what Brooklyn can if he signs with them via free-agency. Best option for Dwight is for a sign-and-trade and not just signing outright via free agency. Would you deprive yourself of 1 more year of guaranteed millions? I know I wouldn't. haha

it's like I'm watching a whole new Lakers team. Defense hedging on pick n' roll situations, ball rotation in the offense, everyone seems to be embracing their roles (finally?). Hope they really have turned a new page. There may still be hope for a playoff appearance.

Everything is starting to fall into place for LA. The league better watch out if they get their stride and reach the playoffs. This Grammy Road Trip for LA is the true acid test. We will see if everybody puts the concept of TEAM above personal gratification.

Great send off win streak before they go on the road to meet Phoenix, Minnesota, Detroit, Brooklyn, Boston, Charlotte and finally the MIAMI HEAT.

like synchro_01 said, the true test is this coming road game.. let see kung ma sustain pa nila yong new system... plus good D lang kaya yan.

GO Lakers

Houston should be the target since they are occupying the 8th and last spot. Fortunately for LA most of Houston's next 7 games are against winning teams (GS x2 games, Miami, Clippers, OKC). If they wilt from the pressure from those games and LA continues on with their new found formula for winning then in two weeks time LA might be on the 8th spot.

Four months ago that statement would have sounded absurd after LA traded for Nash and Howard.

oo nga no. dapat pala Mavs nanalo to close the gap sa Blazers. 4 games out of the playoffs race yung Lakers as of today. What happens after the All-star break will be the pivotal moment for all teams trying to get into the last 2 playoffs spots in the West.

Should be interesting.
