Sabi ko nga a few weeks ago, if the lakers find the right formula right before the all star break, they will be a dangerous team because they are peaking at the right time.  If they get lucky and make it into the playoffs, delikado ang upperseed na kalaban nila.  I can see a '95 rockets championship team with this laker group.  The 95 rockets won the nba championship seeded 6th.  If the lakers make it to the playoffs in the 8th or 7th seed they have a chance to go for that record.

The funny thing I remember is that Mike Brown, when he was still at the helm, predicted the Lakers would get things together around the All-star break. I guess he knew something we all don't know. Inside stuff perhaps that gave him a sense that it would take a while longer for all the stars of the team to be on the same page.

Geez some people really can't say anything good about others...

Oh well, I guess the win by the Lakers today will be branded as a fluke and tsamba again!

Kobe is showing his maturity and is making sacrifices adjusting his game to make the Lakers teamates look better.
Mukhang he's out assisting Nash and transforming Nash into a Jim Paxson or Steve Kerr and shoot those open jumpers or treys.
I still feel the Lakers must stick with Gasol throughout this season.

with the way they are playing now they wont touch Gasol anymore.  The Mike brown fiasco and MDA hiring over Pjax already created a lot of noise.  So i dont think they want more controversial moves.

If I were nash, I wouldnt mind this, I'm an EXCELLENT shooter, I'm not just good, but EXCELLENT.  Its part of being in a superstar team.  Antawn Jamison was a star in his own right with the teams he was with prior to cleveland and he did his best to accept a bit player role.  Nash may be a 2 time MVP but if he wants his ring, he has to adjust too.

Agree. It's evident that Kobe's passing is making his teammates more confident, increasing the level of trust among the players. I guess it's too much to expect that they'll keep their winning streak going during this road trip, but I hope they keep their focus whatever happens. I also doubt they'll be making any deals now, including a Gasol trade.

=====

Looming trade:

Rudy Gay (with Haddadi) goes to Toronto
Ed Davis goes to Memphis
Jose Calderon goes to Memphis, but possibly could be moved further to Detroit (for Prince and Daye)

Somehow though, this is all very uninteresting. :)

It's in his blood na maging bwaya. Kobe bwaya nga siya e...

The real test of Lakers transformation and SACRIFICES will start today in this road game.

1. MDA sacrifices his system
2. DH12 has sacrificed the idea of getting a lot of post plays
3. Pau has sacrificed by coming off bench
4. Nash has sacrificed a lot of his PG duties
5. Kobe has sacrificed his scoring and transform into a new breed

Well let see if MWP will sacrifice his one on one play in this road game.

Beat PHX first today.. ayan muna tsaka na e plan yong next game. "One game @ time"

GO LAKERS!!!!

Congrats to the Raptors, they've managed to showcase Calderon and Davis just enough inflate their value. Ang galing nilang mang-bluff, they'd rather re-sign calderon than lowry daw, tapos si Ed Davis daw ang permanent starter kahit bumalik si Bargs   ;)

The Pistons get a good PG to help in the development of Drummond, Brandon Knight might be moving to SG, or they can just be dumping Prince's salary...

Wala man lang bang nakuhang draft pick ang Memphis? Oh well, I've always wanted to see Prince play for a contender again, sayang ang talent nya sa Pistons. Siguro bukod sa pagbabawas ng salary, may advanced analytics rationale sila sa trade na ito. Parang lugi e.

LMFAO. Kobe is assist-padding! Open for his own basket but he still gives the ball to the trailing pau.

@Jon_Roser: Grizzlies could have Conley, Wroten, Prince, Z-Bo, & Ed Davis all on court together. All 5 are left-handed.

Sabi na nga ba e. Hindi papayag si kobe na maging 2nd fiddle lang sa team niya. heheheh before dapat siya ang highest pointer now siya naman ang assist leader. either way in the end kobe will be kobe at hindi makakatiis yan at magiging bwaya na ulit yan.

imho memphis may have just throwed away their chances on contending on the west, gay may not be a lebron but he still their leader. their core team is quite good prior to the trade.

Even if they won against phoenix it would have been 21-25 and just 3 games better than your prediction.  The new found playing style of the lakers should still win them games, the lakers untimely offensive collapse was even punctuated by d12's shoulder injury.
