yung Suns gusto bumawi sa talo nila sa Houston dahil sa goaltend ni Jermaine O'neal. Pag nangyari yun, mas exciting laro ng Lakers vs Rockets this Thursday. Sana pati Warriors matalao.

***

natalo nga Houston. Now the Lakers have a chance to get to the 7th spot if they win on Thursday! haha

Yung Warriors, ayaw na bumitaw sa 6th spot.

Curry shoots 7 threes! He just needs to shoot 2 more in the next game to beat Ray Allen's record!

if Lakers win THEN 1st round with San Antonio
if Jazz and Lakers lose THEN 1st round with OKC
Jazz win and Lakers lose - go home and relax with kobe.. its fishing time

Sweet set up.  Not only do you enter the playoffs, you get the 7th seed to boot.  A better chance to advance to the second round!  Two birds with one stone.

Could the shoes of Kobe be the culprit?  I mean, he's been wearing low cut shoes that might have less support on the ankle and the achilles.

As opposed to...

or even

What's your take on this?  Should Kobe wear different shoes when he returns?

Nah, he's been using low cut shoes since Zoom Kobe 3 or 4 i think. It's not fatigue too, Torn Achilles can happen to a guy who plays significantly lesser minutes. Even trainers call Torn Achilles injuries as plain bad luck.

Is this confirmed?  So LAL holds the tie breaker kasi tie sila ng HOU if they beat HOU on Thursday.  Ang akala ko nagpatalo ang Houston kasi they already have stronghold of 7th spot and they'd rather face SAS than slug it out with DEN.

So confirmed right?  The LAL vs HOU on Thursday will be a battle for 7th spot?  Kasi LAL holds the tiebreaker if they win tama ba?

Confirmed by this post:

I know it's a long shot pero just wanted to ask, who owns the tiebreaker between Lakers and Rockets? Last two games of Rockers are on the road (@PHX, @LAL) so if ever they lose both games they will tie with Lakers e..

UPDATE:
Ok so I did my research. If the Lakers and Rockets end up tied at 45-37. These are the tiebreakers:
1. Division champion gets tiebreaker - not applicable
2. Head-to-head - will be 2-2 IF Lakers win
3. Better winning percentage in division - not applicable since HOU and LAL are not in the same division
4. Better winning percentage in conference - if Lakers win (28-24); Houston (24-28)

So Lakers will have the tiebreaker and will face no. 2 seed (likely San Antonio as OKC is 1 game ahead as of now and holds the tiebreaker)

It's a long shot. And Lakers might not even make the playoffs . I still believe they will bounce out of the first round. There is very little if not no chance they will make it past OKC or SA, but still who knows. Sigh, the beauty of the NBA..can't wait for the Playoffs to start, with or without the Lakers

Damn, I guess we won't see the outcome of the discussions we guys had way way back?

Assuming that the deal won't get nixed for basketball reasons and of course rehabilitation of a bad back, the Lakers management assembled a very good team while giving up so little. The line up that they will have theoretically is even better than the championship line up that they had three years ago.

Sad to say that the lineup will be led by coach with a lesser pedigree than the Zen Master and If they have a poor showing this year with that lineup my guess is that Coach Brown will be kicked out of the curb. A poor showing is anything less than the Western conference finals for them. Expectations will be sky high for the purple and gold.

if I were Coach Brown I will give Nash free reign to run the team to his hearts content just like what D'Antoni did years back in Phoenix. Nash must be salivating right now at his offensive options on the floor. Being the assist leader this year is not far fetched.

How about the Defense? Can someone there stop Durant and Westbrook?

With Ibaka and Perkins etc I think OKC can still match up well with the Lakers but again who stops Durant etc?

I think we should not sleep on OKC yet. Yeah I think Coach Brown has some sleepless nights ahead.  ;D

Great blueprint on Kobe's rehab and possible timeline :

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1604954-what-kobe-bryant-must-do-to-comeback-from-surgery-and-prove-doubters-wrong

Excerpts:

Dr. Baravarian believes Bryant might have to make changes to his trademark fadeaway jumper.

"Think about that shot," he said. "He turns, he jumps. He has to have the sense and control of his body to shoot while he's falling away and then land."

It's a complex and difficult series of physical activities and one that Bryant might have trouble re-sequencing. He may be forced to make adjustments to his game in order to both accommodate any lingering limitations and make up for any deficits.

The fadeaway might end up being the final milestone. If he's shooting it, the old Kobe is back.

Atoy Co of Crispa has been doing 3 point line fade aways way before Vince Carter.  Atoy Co also has a patented all alone 3 point shot.  He would run at top speed and shoot from the 3 pt shot,  all by his lonesome. He made the shot most of the time.  That's how confident he was.

Doesn't MJ own that trademark fadeaway?   :D It even comes with tongue wagging.

Yep, the fadeaway was Jordan's original but Kobe also made it his "trademark" shot.  Alam mo naman si Kobe ginaya yata lahat kay Jordan including this one :

Which I find very annoying >:(

Oh, he has this original - the constipated look

Here's the complete 6,7,8 playoff picture and scenarios.

No. 6/7/8 seeds:

Golden State plays Portland Wednesday.

Houston plays the Lakers Wednesday, pay attention, that's important.

Utah plays Memphis Wednesday.

The Warriors moved into the sixth seed and control their own destiny for the fifth after their win and the Rockets' loss Monday. They cannot finish worse than seventh. The Jazz' win moved them within a game of the 8th seed with their win Monday vs. San Antonio.

A Warriors win or Rockets loss Wednesday clinches the sixth seed for Golden State. They would play whoever comes out of that mess up above. If the Warriors win and the Rockets lose to the Lakers, the Warriors clinch the sixth, the Rockets fall to the 8th, the Lakers clinch a playoff berth, and clinch the seventh. If the Warriors win, the Rockets win, and the Jazz lose, the Warriors clinch the sixth, the Rockets clinch the seventh, and the Lakers clinch the 8th. If the Warriors win, the Rockets win, and the Jazz win, the Warriors clinch the sixth, the Rockets clinch the seventh, and the Jazz clinch the 8th.

A Warriors loss and a Rockets win clinches the sixth for Houston and the seventh for Golden State by virtue of Houston's tiebreaker. Then if Utah wins, they get the 8th and the Lakers are out. If the Jazz lose in that scenario, the Lakers are in and get the 8th, and the Jazz are out.

So if the following teams win, then (scenario):

Warriors, Rockets, Jazz: 6. Warriors, 7. Rockets, 8. Jazz

Warriors , Lakers, Jazz: 6. Warriors, 7. Lakers, 8. Rockets

Warriors, Rockets, Grizzlies: 6. Warriors, 7. Rockets, 8. Lakers

Warriors, Lakers, Grizzlies: 6. Warriors, 7. Lakers, 8. Rockets

Blazers, Rockets, Jazz: 6. Rockets, 7. Warriors, 8. Jazz

Blazers, Rockets, Grizzlies: 6. Rockets, 7. Warriors, 8. Lakers

Blazers, Lakers, Jazz: 6. Warriors, 7. Lakers, 8. Rockets

Blazers, Lakers, Grizzlies: 6. Warriors, 7. Lakers, 8. Rockets

Matchups (bold indicates locked):

Oklahoma City Thunder (No. 1 seed) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (8)

San Antonio Spurs (2) vs. Houston Rockets (7)

Denver Nuggets (3) vs. Golden State Warriors (6)

Los Angeles Clippers (4) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (5; Grizzlies home-court advantage)

Here's another reason why Stern needs to let the Lakers win on Thursday - Rockets vs OKC! Bin Harden has an axe to grind against OKC to show them it was a mistake to trade him away. Magandang match up yun based on storyline alone. hehe

Do it, Stern! :p

Spurs sign F Tracy McGrady

Will Tmac finally get a taste of the 2nd round of the Playoffs? or will he bring his 1st round exit curse to the Spurs. I hope it's the latter if they face the Lakers. hahaha

Wow...that was a long time ago hahaha...coaches have come and gone plus a LOT of players in and out of the lineup due to injury and look where they landed....9th, 8th or 7th spot. We might see the matchup eventually but not in the WCF atmosphere but sadly the 1st round of the playoffs. with Kobe and Nash out the odds of the Lakers winning a 7 game series against OKC is very small. They never solved their defensive identity for the whole year. The playoffs is where defense reign supreme.
