Rudy Gay and Danny Granger are the best examples that sometimes less is more. Their respective teams had more success post trade/absence than when they were there playing. A lot of times star players and volume shooters like them stunt the growth of other players in the team. It is only during their absence that players like Conley, Allen, George, Hill etc blossomed into who they are right now.
Granger is a definite trade bait but who will bite that 27M that is owed to him for the next two years.
