Odds for Game 1 Friday -

The spread was expected because of Miami's homecourt advantage.  The O/U is quite surprising.  That's quite high - higher than the Indy-Miami series ito. 

Last year, Miami went on a 7 game series vs Boston then lost game 1 to OKC.  They lost game 1 to the Bulls this year.  Almost lost game 1 to the Pacers.  So Game 1's are quite waterloo for the Heat especially versus powerhouse teams.  SAS is well rested.  They have studied Miami pretty well, especially it's small ball offense.  I am rooting for the Heat to win the Finals but the odds in game 1, IMO, are not in their favor.  SAS will keep it close, maybe snatching a win pa nga from Miami.  If SAS will win and keep it close, the score will be low, below 100 i think.

Ang tingin ko naman, most Kobe Haters are Lebron haters too.  Tama ba ako?  Or is it the other way around?  I have a brother who hates Kobe like he's the anti christ but is a Lebron fan.  So pag nagaaway na kami tungkol kay Kobe, we change topic to Lebron at magkasundo na kami ulit.

Straight yan meaning walang plus.  Per game ba yan or sa buong series?  If the winner of the series I'd bet on Miami.  Lebron's time now.  Guy wants to win a 3peat, I guess.

Ako naman personality and flopping/crab dribble aside, hanga talaga ako sa galing ni Lebron. The respect is definitely there (whereas before panay hirit din ako ng "king without a ring"). I just can't straight up say na "I hope he gets more rings" kasi that would mean my Lakers would keep losing...unless he comes to LA. hahaha

Because players like Kobe, Lebron, MJ and teams like Lakers, Miami, Chicago uhh New York? bring out the best and worst of fans and haters.  There are no in betweens.  You either like them or you don't.  In the old PBA, Jaworski is the best example. It's either you're a Jawo fan or a hater.  Walang tisoy pagdating kay Jawo.  In the new PBA, I'd say Abueva has that character. 

I always thought MJ had very few haters because of his charisma but when I checked the internet, the guy also has his share.

I've a story to tell :  Back in the late 90's, my ex-GF ( now my wife ) who was working for Diamond Hotel back then called me up and said there's an NBA player staying in the hotel who's giving away sports cap.  She mentioned the name but I go, "who's he? don't know him?"  so I told her to just go get the sports cap.  Nike yata yun.  Then she gave me the cap and I was surprised that it had the player's signature on it.  I was a little peeved and told her I just want the cap.  It looked ugly with the signature of a "nobody".  So I did a silly thing -- erase the signature!!  I don't know how I did it  but I was able to remove the signature. 

The NBA player's name?  PAUL PIERCE

yeah i recall his trip here...it think this was right after his surgery(didnt he got stabbed or something? too lazy to google hehe)...after this injury/incident then he blossomed into superstardom

The Spurs +5.5 spread is really so hot that it looks too good to be true. Llamadong llamado talaga. I was actually expecting +2 or +3 but +5.5?  Damn. Everyone I talk to is betting on the Spurs, even some Miami rooters (except the die hards of course ) When I saw it, I didn't think twice anymore.  Ang bilis ko nag decide.   What's the catch here?.   Baka may alam ang Vegas oddsmakers that we don't know?  Hehehe.  So pag nanalo ang Miami by 6 or more, I am sure madami luhaan!!  Exciting ito.

There's another factor going for the Spurs pala - championship experience.  This is the first time Miami is going against a former champion team.  ( Dallas and OKC were not ).  So this team knows how it is to be in the Finals   Very big challenge for Lebron and the Heat.

Heat... too good to be swept by spurs... may chance lang ang spurs pag nilaro ng heat ang game. but if the big two and their support plays miami ball. Mukhang malabo manalo ang spurs. Kahit na may championship experience ang spurs. Sana magalit si james at isipin niya yun ginawa sa kanya ng spurs back in cleveland days para sweep ang spurs.

There should be no insult taken with a pick. Thinking the Heat, with the best player on the planet and a team that won 27 games in a row will prevail shouldn't be a degredation of the Spurs. Thinking San Antonio, with three Hall of Famers and a coach widely considered the best in the NBA, is going to come out on top is not a slap in the face of the champs.

Two great teams, one trophy.
