Sir Jerix,

I think there are many members here who are using the yammy/warfs combo (8ohms receiver/6 ohms speakers) for their ht so I don't think there's a problem. Wharfs are even harder to drive than the daichi speakers because of ther sensitivity.

Sir arthurallanj,

Leaning more on wharfs kasi from ht gusto ko na mag audio eh. Best speakers for it's price.

Sir dvh,

Gusto ko ngang may ibang makinig ng pl-100 para malaman ko kung tama nga ang rinig ko. Euros 8 is definitely for ht especially if u don't have or plan on buying a sub.

Sa kumpare ko, he's giving me an additional discount. I've decided dun na lang ako bibili.  ;D

Really very much interested to know anything about how these 6 ohms speakers perform with 8 ohms receivers.. Anyone having this combi please?  ;)

Base on theories, it seems hooking these 6 ohms speakers to 8 ohms receivers/amps is not advisable... but price of these speakers is tempting me to try  >:D but i really want to know first actual experiences of users  ::) thnks

I bought the Euros8 Tower recently and still maintained my Yamaha Amps, wala pa naman ako na experience na problem. Every now and then tinitingnan ko kung umiinit pero so far k naman. Hopefully stays that way.  :)

Sir,

I have an ONKYO TX-800 amp rated at 130 watts (8 ohms) and I'm planning to have a separate setup for audio. I have the diamond 8.3 on mind paired with a surplus CDP,until i found this thread,  do you guys think that these euro towers will match my amp. Which would sound better kaya?

thanks.

As I've said, ever noticed the similarities in design of Yamahas and Daiichis? Similar ang enclosure ng EF Series, Yamaha NS-555 & NS-777, with the Euros. Could it be that  Daiichi takes after Yamaha??? ??? Obvious ba? He he he.  ;D

I don't think you'd have a problem with that, Yamahas are rated at 6 Ohms, Daiichis are rated at 6 Ohms, too. So matched nga talaga sila in terms of impedance. More and more each day I believe Daiichi bases their designs from foreign counterparts, but moreso, at least that's what I think, with Yamaha.  ;D

Dai-ichi could be an OEM for Yamaha.  And others.  Other than that, it's really easy to copy the physical dimensions of a known speaker brand.  Even their crossovers.  One can always reverse-engineer.

Reverse-engineering is the word. I think that's what they do. Although, I don't think they're an OEM for Yamaha, sir AV. But I'm very certain they are for Pioneer. That's why, If I never get to buy those NS-555s someday, makukuntento na lang ako sa Euros. He he. Good day, Sir AV.  ;D

Ain't that what it's all about? Value for your money. I was happy with my DTX 9.5, and it also had good value, but I think it's time I grew into something with better bass response. Excited na ako!!!  ;D ;D
Oh and ahh, a little secret an insider from Daiichi told me, the Euros were really mass produced for export, that's why medyo mahal sya nung simula, and Daiichi alledgedly overproduced these beautiful babes, that's why they're selling it at these lowered prices, swerte natin, no? He he  ;D. Hoy, mga bro, secret lang natin to ha? He he he.  ;D >:D ;D

Bro,
That's a beautiful set up. I just fell in love with the Euros 8. Are those isolation spikes I see? Did you make them yourself? Or bought them? Or did they come with the Euros? Thanks in advance.  ;D

Oh and ahh, on a personal note, those two people on the picture frames also look beautiful. Lagyan ko rin kaya ng pictures namin ang set up ko? Para naman ma-touch si misis. He he.  ;D

bro Chito, tnx for your comments- ;) at least good comments naman yata ang nababasa ko sa issue about the impedance mismatch between the Euros 8 which is 6 ohms and 8 ohms amps...

but still waiting for a contrary opinion..

This is not a contrary opinion, just a cautionary one.

In general, 8-ohm nominally rated speakers should be paired with amps requiring or recommending 8-ohm speakers.  But some amps with this recommendation can handles lower loads on a continuous basis except that it operates much hotter.  You would just need to train a cooling fan over its heat sinks.  And not overdrive it at high volumes or the protection circuit will engage.

If you plan to set the speakers to SMALL and route bass to a powered subwoofer, then the amp can run cooler even with a lower load.  Bear in mind that most frequencies below 100 hz have low impedances that can reach down to 3 ohms or lower, so they are the ones that will tax an amp.  But if such frequencies are routed to a powered sub, there'd be little to nothing to tax the amp with.

There are awkward ways, like putting a 2-ohm 50-watt resistor in series with each speaker or using a matching transformer.

But I don't see the urgency to do so.  To be  absolutely sure, bring your receiver to the AV shop or a Euros owner, connect it to the Euros and listen for an hour at the volume you like (hope the salesman won't mind) and see if your receiver doesn't go into protection mode.  Chances are it won't, but will be hotter.

I played Cris Cross Live DVD and noticed also that medyo nga di appealing sa music ang euros8. Pero I agree with your friend na kapag movies you will be amazed by its performance.  ;)

That is exactly the reason why the Euros 8 didn't perform well with bro vtec3's set up, he's using a Yamaha amp. Why don't we ask somebody else who's using the Euros 8 with a different amp?  :)

Punta na rin yata ako mamaya sa Megamall para ma-audition itong Euros. Pwede kaya pa-palitan yung fronts ng ibang model ng speaker ng Dai-ichi din na mas okay para sa music?
