Hey Sir AV,

Musta na po? It's been a long time. Not to contest your post sir, but for the sake of discussion, isn't it true that all five channels have full range response? So, some detail may be missed if the lower frequencies are filtered to the sub, right? But I guess that's the purpose of the sub, to take care of all the lower frequencies below the cut off. Just a thought. Sent you a PM sir. God Bless.

Hey bros kt and lawin,
Sir AV is the one who has taught me a lot. He's THE Man!
 ;D

Thanks for the endorsement Arthur.   ;D  Glad to be of help.

As to your question, each channel in HT receivers these days is capable of full range.  But not all DVD materials take advantage of this.  And no, filtering the lows to the sub is not supposed to result in detail losses.    Unless you have a sonic hole between the mains and the sub caused by wide disparities in crossover points or the freqeuncy response abilities of each that can't allow seamless dovetailing.

Hi Guys!!!

Went to Daiichi Showroom sa Mega Mall this morning. Inaudition ko uli yung Euros8 tower in stereo mode and without subs, may bass naman sya unlike mine na parang anemic. Say nung bagong staff nila (ala na si Elmer, pinalitan lahat ng dating assigned duon) hanggang mid-bass lang talaga yun design nuon and yu need the sub for deeper bass. Wala din daw kinalalaman yung speaker wires.

They said to bring it back para ma-test and compare ( bigat pa naman nun) or do a test if any of the 8" speakers is working and remove them myself if defective.

Mag-tweak muna ako as suggested earlier before I decide to bring it there for testing/comparison. Maybe its really our room or speaker placements... etc.

Lawin,

Try mo rin check yung dynamic range setting ng receiver mo.  Dapat nasa MAX siya. Kung di ka rin gagamit ng sub, set mo lang sa MAIN yung LFE.  Nagiging manipis and medyo mas matigas ang  bass pag naka BOTH ang LFE output.  IMHO.

Sir AV,
Just spreading the love, sir. Thanks din po. ;D

Bro fweyd,

The Euros 8 are much bigger than the Wharfe 9.5. They have similar curved side enclosures. And I've heard both, the Euros has better clarity and better bass. In terms of price to performance ratio, I think the Euros 8 is the winner. But that's just me.  ;D

Bro Lawin,

I don't know if you rememeber me mentioning to set the SP LFE to Max just like bro obey said. I'm quite sure you just missed something in the setting kaya ganyan. Good luck. Sarap mangalikot no?  ;D

To everybody else interested about Daiichis. The frequency response ratings pala is based on a +/- 4dB level. Just found that out recently. Peace!

Bro Art/Obey,

Nakaset naman sya sa MAX. Medyo di ko muna "kinalikot" kagabi, galit na si wife eh. Nanuod na lang muna kami ng James Last na Concert. Mostly trumpets, violins, guitars .... ganda naman tunog at bass integration.

Sir AV_Phile,

Sayang di ko pa matest yung bass sweep siguro sa weekend ko sked including yung suggestion ni Sir Ahobbit to check for room cancellations.

??? Di naman siguro maapektuhan yung AVR if I remove one of the speakers. Incidentally, kung may room cancellations ako how can I fix it?

Cheers guys for all the help, specially Bro Art and Sir AV_Phile  ;D

if you are referring to the picture I posted, yup those are Euros8. sometimes as what was mentioned by Sir Art na iba yung nasa website nila as against the actual.  ;)

you might want to visit them sa Mega although medyo di comfortable kasi nag renovate sila and amoy paint sa loob.

A lot of entries in the website are inaccurate. Kahit na sa pictures na lang e, mey entry na sabi triple woofers pero the picture shows two woofers and a mid. Best to just visit the stores.

Guys,

Did some tweaking again and performed calibration via YPAO as we also did some room rearrengement. One thing I noticed though is that the level of the FL speaker was set at 0db while the FR is  +2db. I switched the position of the speakers, performed calibration again and now the FL is +2db while the FR is 0 db.  ??? Is this normal na  pwedeng mahina yung isa or may isang sirang speaker duon sa medyo mahina na tower?

With regards to the Euros8 being bass anemic, I can hear good sounding mid-bass sounds (to the point that I can feel it in my chest at 3ft away) if I turn the volume at -10db listening to a stereo source and yung front speakers lang ang pinagagana ko.  Bro Art , tama lang ba ito?

Sir AV_Phile,

I further tweaked my towers/sub-combination using the wav file you sent me. Parang mas maganda naman na ngayun bass transition na although parang masOK for stereo sources pag yung LFE  is set to BOTH .and 80-90 Hz ang crossover.

Cheers . . .

Bro lawin,

That's a possibility. You know, the other tower being not the same with the other. Why not check the possibly defective speaker's individual drivers by placing your ear near the tweeter then covering it with a cupped had and uncovering it again. There should be an audible difference when you do that. The same goes with the midrange. With the woofers, all you need to do is touch the cones or the dustcap and if it pushes then it's okay, or you can get a battery and connect the speaker wires to the battery and you should see the woofers move up or down depending on polarity.

With stereo sources, I found that Yamahas seem to work well with DTS Neo:6 Music. Yamaha HT receivers haven't always been great with audio sources.  ;D

Ideally they should deliver the same SPLs to your listening position.  And the room accoustics adjacent to or around each front speaker should be identical.  That means the room conditions and furtniture situations for L and R speaker placement should be symmetric.  Otherwise, you may need to adjsust the left or the right speaker's volume depending on the degree of reverb emnating from the surrounding conditions of each speaker.  2-3db is not uncommon when L and R room conditions are disimilar.  I'm assuming that neither speaker has any defect or disparity.

Hi Guys!

I've checked my Euros tower speakers  as the other  ay medyo mahina by 2db (or mas malakas yung isa?) and tried to listen if any of the drivers is not working (tumutunog naman lahat, para lang mahina ng konti yung tweeter nuong isa). I guess I'll let daichi service check it na lang later.

For now enjoy muna namin ulit, specially after I've installed last night a pair of bass shakers sa couch (sarap manuood ng concerts and action movies! the kids really love it  ;D).

I'm just wondering na after installing the bass shakers (using the rca output ng euros sub) may nararamdaman kami ngayun na parang hangin na sumusimpit (light breeze) coming out of the Euro Sub (dati ala naman?).. .  or nataon lang na nakuha ko tamang setting?

Cheers ....

Parang overkill kung puro towers pero sarap nun. yamaha entry level avr's will fit ur budget. I got my rxv-440 last year at 13.5k. kung gagamitin mo full potential ng 4 towers sa avr baka mahirapan avr mo kasi power hungry ang towers kaya usual setup for ht is bookshelf ang surrounds tapos may dedicated powered sub ka para hindi hirap yung avr mo.

@arthur

Old School lang haha.. Yamaha Prologic RXV-490 :D . . walang sub out ung tae   ;D

kinuha ko ung JL Audio 15" Sub ng kuya ko .. yung pang car.. kinabit ko sa Front Left ng AVR ko.. HA HA HA HA !!! Pwede! :D kaso i need a crossover of somesort kasi may tunog rin lumalabas hndi lang ung "BOOM" or "UGS"

il get a pic soon.. ito lang setup ko..

Yamaha RXV-490
Dai-1chi Euros 6 Towers 100watts ( front left and front right of Speaker Group A)

Tool.
