Actually, there is a trick in making the cabinet. If am to make another cabinet designed by David, I would still go for 2.8 Mk2 for the AN Super 8 Cast Frame. My modification will be, using 3/4" mdf on back, rear, top, bottom, side, but on the front will be 1.5" (3/4" x 2 thickness for the front to better performance). I will also convert the port hole which is 6" to square hole that is equal to 6" port hole.
Regarding the foam, I still prefer the traditional 2" wool fiber type which you are going to put on the top, rear, side, bottom..but not on the front, ok? But if the other foam you are using is the one designed for speaker box, you may also use that as a combination. Let's say you use that on the rear, top and bottom. On the side, will be the 2" wool.

Btw, most of the d.i.y use rubber foam type 2" for insulation. but if you have doubts that the foam you are using is design for speaker box, better use the wool fiber.
Box enclosure: Ask wackiedoodle to e mail you the 2.8 mk2 speaker box enclosure. Though you may ask DAvid for that specific box enclosure once your big brother buy the AN Super 8 CAst frame. S.O.P that David will gonna ask which enclosure you prefer. Also better to use a very good copper speaker wire quality for the internal wiring.
