hi. Jst wana know kmusta na mga pv80 unit nyo?

Anu na mga naging sira? Mga complains etc

How does it fare compared to todays latest units in terms of pq, features etc

sbrang layo na b ng latest units as compard sa pq?

planning to uprade, bt nt necesarily a biger one

42pv80 user here. Got it last march 2008.
Alive and kicking. Daily use po eto. Average is 10 hours per day.
No problem so far (knock on wood)

Planning of upgrading this dec.
Will definitely get panasonic plasma pa rin.
Maybe 55".

Took me 6 mos of research, feedbks etc b4 finaly dcdi
ng to get ds unit

bought mine march 2009 at 45k at sns.
.
Naka 3 balik ako, nagdala pako own dvd ko to b sure whch unit has d best pq.

So hapi wd it. Flawles pa din til now

50pv80 owner here. Bought Nov 2009. Still in perfect PQ condition. Favorite TV namin to (have a 32 sony and toshiba). Remote control ok na ok din

. Never had a problem with this unit.

42PV80 still alive and kicking. Remote still very responsive and picture still awesome. Beats 4 other LCD TVs that my wife's relative have including a 50inch Sammy. Sa amin nakikinood pag may bago siyang BD kasi malayo daw na mas maganda yung PQ.

Sa akin 42PV8 maganda pa rin at no problem at all and still good picture quality pa rin, nabili ko 4 year ago sa Listening in Style...

Still using pv80 probably the best 720p pana ever released with its excellent pq together with anti reflection coating and pre crisis power supply that according to some sites does not sacrifice brightness compared to later 720p panels by pana.
But it does not have the sharpness when watching blue ray movies compared to our 40 inch 1080p Sony lcd. But then again the sony does not have anywhere near its black levels and sucks for cable and dvd viewing.
I guess 1080p plasmas like the vt30 or the up and coming st50 offer no compromises.

42pv80 still good. got mine in 2008 from the now closed theaterworks

missed that shop.

around that much, it was really a hard decision for me that time if i'd get a pv8 or a pv80 but the shiny bezel won me over

ah i got mine for around 64k, when it was priced @ 80k ++

i have the PV8, it was 58k from SNS in June 2008 ... still alive and kicking, and i'm still very satisfied with the performance ... the bigger and now cheaper new TVs are very tempting, but i'll keep this one for a while

this thread made me sad..my pv80 is dead last april..bought last dec 2008..10 hrs daily avg use..repair cost daw sabi ng panasonic dau pampanga 77k..tingin ko sinabi na lang nila yun para nde na pa repair..

Condolence sir. This is the 1st time I heard a PV80 passed away. Medyo maikli pa buhay nung sa yo.
With a 77k repair cost, mas ok talagang mapalitan na lang.

Come to think of it. Before the cost of repairing CRTs is usually cheaper. Now it is usually much more to repair than to buy a new one.

^ Very sad news but true. My Sony LCD TV got problem 2 months after the 2 year warranty expired 2010 with intermittent on/off problem accompanied by random 6, 7 and 9 LED blink errors. I contacted Sony and the cost for parts and labor would run no less than P12t. Then my TPC Master friend learned of my ordeal and volunteered to try to trace the circuit of the power supply ( which he determined to be the culprit ) since we can not find a circuit diagram. After several days of recreating the diagram he concluded that a design flaw caused this problem. He modified the circuit by changing the value of a resistor and almost 2 years later, this unit is still working flawlessly. Cost for part, a few centavos for a 1/4 watt resistor. We installed din PC Fans at the back of the TV mula ng ma repair at heating totally gone for a CCFL backlit TV.
