Salamat, it was your posts as others that led me to it....probably not the first siguro, I'm sure there are others before me.
Hopefully it comes before November para early Christmas  ^-^
kaya lang bakit ganun, kumuha na ko ng tv pero ang dami pang hinihintay?  :'(
sana lumabas na rin ang pch 400 :o

Did you check how much difference with the 60GT50 or 60VT50 - ay wala yatang 60VT50? (it's only 50 and 65 in Japan right now pero baka meron din 60 sa US and other territories)

The 60gt50 costs 400$ more while the 55vt50 cost about 800$ more ( seems there is no 60" for the vt50 series)... Initially thought of getting the gt50 but most reviews say I don't need it since the st50 was as good with slightly less features (features I don't need)....

Not really as good as the GT50 IMO.   Matalas di hamak ang blackness, contrast and details on the GT50 which is quite apparent kapag pinagtabi mo with the ST50.  Pero, the ST50 is quite very good as is, and its cost performance is really really high.   I was comparing the equivalent models of the 55ST50 and a 50GT50 in Tokyo recently - and I was favoring the 55ST50 because of the bigger size and approx. $500 less price - makakalimutan ko naman yung PQ ng GT50 pag-uwi ko, I thought.

Kung sinulat mo lang agad about your interest on 60GT50, malamang kinulam kita.   $11 difference a month in 3 years  ;D

Anyway, looking forward to your impressions on the ST50 kapag dumating. Cheers!

Sana local prices ng 60ST50 in 2012 would be around 2.2K USD.  Kung Sept 2013, mahal yon   ;D ;D

Jamy Babez!  ;D  So anong 3D NMT or HTPC ang ipa-partner mo sa VT30?  Naiinggit ako sa yo especially while lookin at the pics.  Binuhat mo mag-isa yon with the pedestal?

Maski 10% nalang na depreciation, I would reserve sa Xmas    ;D ;D ;D

Cheers!

currently doing my usual ALL white screen burn in ... power consumtion was at 340 - 370 watts.  this is with power saver turned off @ THX mode (naks).  ;D
but when i was playing a movie earlier .. as usual never got to 200 watts (power save ON) :)
but still this is good as my previous LG was clocking the same consumption, partida 1080p ito  :D

also, left the 3d glasses as im not gonna use it at the moment, but told vic to keep it until next month *para may extra discount*.  ;D

btw if i dont have plans watching 3d movies on this tv as it is really small, should i get the 3d glasses?
kasi my previous LG 3dtv glass was almost unused (a little over 2 hours sa isang glass and unused yung 2nd glass)

What if maraming 3D BD ISO or SBS OU na accessible, wala ka pa rin plan?  Dont you think you'd appreciate the value of your VT30 more if you give it's 3D function a try - for whatever it's worth?

Magkano ba yung 3D glass in Manila?  I fancy yung RF 3D glasses ng Panasonic pero mahal yon.  I think nerveblocker got 3rd party 3D glasses at more reasonable price that work very well with his Panasonic Plasma.  Oh, try mo hiramin from the Doc maski isa muna?   ;D

But you have to make sure that your ASUS laptop can handle 3D BD ISO.   SBS, OU - no problem maski KMP so 3D glass nalang tlaga ang kailangan.   ;)

Oh yeah, puede to import the 3D glasses through Oreoshake or Anya perhaps?   Baka mas mura than buying from our resident sellers.

Hi Jamy!
Maganda sana yung link given by timber715 because it's for an RF/Bluetooth type 3D glasses, kaso nakasulat for "2012 models only".  Anyway, hopefully RF/Bluetooth type (model 2011) na yung supplied with the VT30 para mas maganda ang range, mahaba batt life and less ang crosstalk.

Regards

Bro I just checked Panasonic's Catalogue.  The RF/Bluetooth 3D Glasses (model TY-ER) are exclusively for 2012 models nga pala.  So that's one difference between the 2012 and 2011 models.

Well infrared comm  (model TY-EW) should be OK within your viewing range.  Nerveblocker must be using the same with his UT30 and I think he's quite happy.  Just keep the battery level good.   :)

I bought a 50VT30 a week ago but had to send it back for a refund because of the dreaded green and pink tint issue. Thinking that it was limited to my set, I tested 4 other panels of different manufacturing dates but all exhibited the same problem. It's a beautiful TV and I'm aware that there's no such thing as a perfect set but the color uniformity issue is just significant and something that I can't live with. Actually, it was my wife and daughter who spotted the anomaly when we were watching Pirates of the Caribbean 3, the bright "crab" scene, where patches of green and pink tints are obvious. The thing is, it's difficult to spot the issue when you use the color test slides. It's only after you've seen how the issue looks like that it becomes easy to discern on the slides.

After that incident, I was informed by a good friend who's deep in the retail business that there were only a limited number of VT30 units (around 120) that were brought to the Philippines for liquidation purposes. These units all came from Sinagpore and are those that didn't pass in-store customer testing or were sent back because of the green and pink tint issue. He added that a software update cannot guarantee to fix the problem because it's a manufacturing fault. I think their marketing strategy worked by dumping the units in our country because all the panels I tested and even the one I purchased was sold a few days later.

If you have the VT30 and happy with it then I suggest that you don't go look for the green and pink tint issue because it's hard to unsee. Just enjoy your set.

Whose marketing strategy?  Panasonic or the gray market?

Why didnt you consult with your friend who claims to know the story of those VT30, prior to getting a VT30 in the first place?  Assuming that your friend's info is true, does that imply na alam din dapat yon nung mga resident sellers natin, yet they offered the VT30 at such low prices without any asterisk or disclaimer?

Baka naman wala talagang issue yung sa yo sir.

Pero napansin daw niya sa crabs scene ng Pirates of the Caribbean 3, maybe green and pink areas on the white sand:

It might be the material that was used.

Guys, remember I complained as well about this earlier?

What I did was I played the same material exhibiting the color anomalies I complained about in my 42PV80, 42X30 and 42X20.

The same anomalies occurred with these displays.

Then I used the gray test patterns and did not see anything.

After that, I decided to keep the TV.  ;D

Cheers mate!
