DVD performance:The VT30 delivered good DVD performance with our Pioneer 410v DVD player. Set to 1080p we witnessed very good blacks with accurate colors and a clean definition. But on a side note, the over-all picture was softer than our 42C10 and even softer than a Panasonic 32C30X LCD TV.
Comparing the VT30 with our V20 and the Quattron for "upscaled" performance yielded the same results, as detailed above.
Bringing the resolution down to 480p, though, nearly equalized the performance with the C10 and the V20 still with the slight upper hand.
Green blob:Here it is!
We saw it when playing "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" on the PS3! Chapter 1 (Stage 4), while the hero was fighting an Ice Titan in an all white background. There is a Youtube video that also shows this problem, I'll look for the link again...
Castlevania LOS is my favorite game and I play it almost everyday on my Quattron and the C30X (If i'm forced to go back to the bedroom because it's way too late at night
) Now, if I played this particular game on the VT30 first.. maybe, I wouldn't be bothered by it, but since both LCD models and even the V20 didn't have his issue. Seeing it now on my favorite game is upsetting me.
Switching back and forth from the VT30 to the cheap C30X LCD to see the difference and if the "blob" will grow on me is not working. It's ugly and in a way, almost unacceptable! For this particular game, it looks really bad and it's ruining the experience...
I'll go to work now and get back to it later...
