after getting a 42st30, I am craving for more PQ nkaka addict sobra. and yes I agree, the bigger the better, cgro nga dapat nag 50" na din kami, tho nsa room lang kse yung 42" namin dati and malaki na masyado ang 50", never thought na I would place the plasma sa living room after we moved to a new house.

for the price difference ng 42ST30 vs 42vt30, which is mejo konto lang, am I missing a lot not having the 42vt30? pa advise naman mo so I could decide if I wil sell the 42st30 while the reselling price is still ok and switch to the 42VT30..

both the ST30 and VT30 share the same NEOPlasma panels from Panasonic. 

But if there are differences, this would probably be very minimal at best.

Brod, back read.  I actually posted pictures of the 50VT30 and 55ST30 side by side.  The panels have way much difference.  See for yourself.  Cheers!

MOST DEFINITELY YES.  Just read back.  If there is no difference between a mid level model and the top-of-the-line, what is the point of that?

Neo Plasmas are discriminated by technology and grade.  Panasonic uses different panels depending on the model, kahit na all of them are generically called Neo Plasma.  Sa Japan para mas madali maintindihan and ma-highlight ang difference, they would use names like "Black Plasma Panel", "Full Black Plasma Panel" and then "Full Black Plasma Panel Plus", then depende sa year of release, they would add I, II, III etc. - and of course, magkaiba ang Video Engine and grade ng anti-glare coating.  Kahit nga hindi mo buksan ang TV, by simply looking at the dark screen, obvious na obvious na iba-iba ang panel - iba kadiliman, iba kintab.

Eto pa, try to bring a bring a flashlight to a store and then point it to the panel.  Notice kung ano ang ayos ng reflected light on the screen.

I saw from the interweb na pwede mag illuminate yung remote control.  I checked mine and I do not see any option.  I can't find it in the manual either.

Actually, kaninang umaga ko pa inuudyukan ang Wife na pumayag sa offer mo.  I told her malabong may matira sa Dec 22.  We'll see what she decides.   Kung may wifi sa store, pedeng-pedeng i-Facetime sa akin in realtime..hehehe

meron naman.. bumili lang ako ng extra and kasi gusto ko ng may ilaw yun remote ko..ang hirap sa gabi gamitin..and mas ok yung may ilaw na remote kasi yung up down ng chanels nasa taas mas madali hawakan..mas user friendly yung remote ng america..

Whenever I go around to check out the current TV's in our local shops.
I always tell myself to wait for the VT50 or ST50

But our local merchants tell me that those models are going to be priced higher than the currently available ones.

Now, is this true? Or are the merchants just trying to get a sale from me?

Yeah I'm sure initial prices of the ST50 and VT50 will be higher.
The reason I'm asking bro Jamy is because even they doubt that the next models will go for as low as the current ones.

the only official 50 series models our market is getting are the X50, XT50, and ST50. the only official ST50 locally available is the 65ST50. anlabo ng line-up no? 


as for me, I'd already be happy with a 42VT30.

I agree... The ST50 will most likely be priced at a premiums... maybe the 42" model would sell for about 45k ~ 49K?...  An that is just a mid range model... not counting the GT50...  and the VT50 which will not have a 42" model... 

Like most VT30 owners,  The 42VT30 is really one great deal at its current selling price of 38K~39K...

The next possible step would be to look for a super great deal for a 42GT50 or a 50VT50 sometime in Dec2013 or January 2014... That when the X60 series would have been introduced in the market...

Sir,  Try checking thru the manual... regarding 3D settings... Im sure there is something there that you may have missed...

I inquired about the 42VT30 at one of SnS's threads. there's no mention of the 42VT30 in their new pricelists now. looks like their stocks of the 42VT30 have really dried up! 


since that is the case, I'm now considering either the Samsung 51E550 or the Panasonic 50VT30.

  looks like a very easy choice to make for current VT30 owners/users....

PQ difference between the 2 units is very glaring.... NIGHT and DAY difference...

Just for the record, mas mura pa yung presyo ng VT30 dyan compared to that of discount shops in Tokyo.

Dont compare with US prices dahil abnormally low ang pricing doon.

So paano magiging kasing mura ng VT50 ang VT30 unless i-clearance sale nila again in about a year when the 60 series is out, or, when Panasonic goes out.   

Honestly, duda ako sa mga pinarating na VT30 dyan from the start dahil sa presyo, BUT THEN, Im gonna try to look for a good one and buy - kung may matitira.  Wala namang mawawala to try.

Maybe the ST50 would be priced around the same...but that is NOT VT CLASS!!!!!!...and BTW, right now, a 50ST50 in Tokyo is about 154K Yen (or around 80K pesos) sa Amazon Japan right now..Its called GT5 in Japan.   So malaking asa if aasang magiging 60K din agad ang 50ST50 in Manila..pero wala naman masama umasa.
