Just for the record, mas mura pa yung presyo ng VT30 dyan compared to that of discount shops in Tokyo.
di kaya dahil made in japan yung nasa Tokyo bro?

Thailand na lahat Bro since the latter half of the VT30's production life, (from around Aug 2011 to Feb 2012 I suppose) - that was when Panasonic announced their massive losses last year - which continues until now.  So kung meron mang Made In Japan na VT3 in Japan, that would be in the Used Market.

i saw this TV and was blown away. I almost bought one the other day, but I had to consult with the boss (my wife). I think I'll give this to her as a christmas present hehe. btw does panasonic philippines carry this line?
My wife said she knows someone in panasonic who can give us a discount, but if the VT30 isn't in their line up why get from them? btw I'm choosing between a 42vt30 and a sammy ua 46 eh5000. Only considering the samsung because of the size. I don't think it can even play 3d.

Im not competing in the 42V Bro.  Just the 50V because umaangal si Wife na 42V20 yung sa Pasig while 50V2 yung sa Tokyo.  So it would be much appreciated if a good 50VT30 would be left for the Wife...hehehe

Made In Thailand - not really OK to the Japanese, but they have no choice now because all models are made in Thailand.  Anyhow, same same situation as Sony (except for the new 4K 84 inch Ultra HD - DAW - made to order nga this Ultra HD because walang stocks), and the after-sales support is of course still Japanese standard.  Besides, those top of the line models from the major players (WHICH INCLUDE THE VT - hehehe) look absolutely awesome - so the actual manufacturing locations should not be a bother as long as strict quality control is maintained.  R&D remains in Japan of course, especially sa panel tech and video engine.  Sharp will have no choice but to stop producing TVs within their cutting-edge Tateyama Plant.  Yen is too expensive and so is the cost of labor.

dun ka na sa samsung bro, dibs na si bro allan sa lahat ng natitirang unit ;D

I'll ask you a question in return.  How far is the UAEH5000 from the highest end 50 inch Samsung TV?  Yun ang sagot + plus alpha.  hehehe

Nakukulitan na ako sa sarili ko na parang silang plaka... WALA NANG MAS MAGANDA SA VT kung Panasonic.  Claro?   Bakit napakamura compared sa flagship models ng Sony, Samsung among others?  Yung ang di Claro.   ;D

Sales Pitch: Current Ranking ng Plasma sa Kakaku.Com (Japan Market) - as of today

Of course it's not a waste of time to demo as many models as you can.  That's good.  Everyone should do that.

But if I were in Manila right now, I would just spend my entire alloted time checking out a VT30.  Ive been very very very very happily using a V20 since 2010 and it still wows me -  So personally, difficult to settle for a non-V at the moment - although to be fair, the ST50 is really quite an improvement over the ST30  - very very high cost-performance.  Kung wala lang sanang associated asterisk yung VT30 sa Manila, my Wife wouldnt wait for me - but probably she wouldnt wait.  hehehe

nice reading from CNET about Long-term plasma TV tests which includes:
Black-level, White-level and Color Temp changes in time.

"The VT30's increase from 0.0045 ftL to 0.0068 is enough to make "black"
on Panasonic's highest-end 2011 plasma measure just slightly worse than
on the company's step-down GT30 and ST30 models." -Dave Katzmaier CNET.

I have the same question.   Probably Kakaku.com has not incorporated the 2012 models in that specific table - but that's rather strange since March 2012 pa released ang ST and GT while the VT came out in July 2012.

But I think the point is, green blobs or not, mataas ang Satisfaction Ranking ng VT30:  implication - majority of the VT30s do not have the green smear, or, malabo ang mata ng Hapon - which was the biggest mistake by the Americans during WWII - hehehe.

Oo nga pala, for the sake of my Wife who might go solo, at which stores can you possibly (and will you be allowed to) test a VT30 unit before bringing out the wallet?  Lahat ba ng stores ay pumapayag?  Salamat po.

i bought my vt30 last tuesday on listening room megamall b. mababait naman ang mga tao pwede mo din itest ng itest yung unit mo pero make sure na alam mo panu itest kasi sila mismo di nila alam mga issues like green blob, etc. hahah tinest ko din yung unit na binili ko for green blob sa crab scene sa pirates mukhang wala naman akong nakitang green patches sa unit ko. alam ko 1 unit na lang ata meron sila or wala na. kasi sabi nila last unit na daw ung nabili ko.

i also checked ung intelligent frame creation ng panasonic which is the counterpart ng trumotion ng lg, and to my conclusion mas obvious ang motion interpolation effect ng lg led compared to our vt30, heheh pero passing rate na din ang kay vt30. heheh (not a videophile) :)

Are VT30 units manufactured after a certain point more likely to be safe?

My VT30's Intelligent frame creation (which is set to High by default) is so obvious when I was watching an HD (720p) movie.  Motion was so smooth na talagang naninibago yung mata ko.  This is my first flat screen and was using a CRT.  Kaya di ko rin masabi na mas obvious cya compared to other flats (e.g. edgelit led, direct led..etc)

I thought it was cause by this 600hz sub field drive thingy and when I disabled it (intelligent frame creation), the motion went normal.

Mukang hot commodity talaga yang vt30. I was supposed to get from listening room, but if they don't have the 42 inch i'm going to have to look for another reliable place. If i play pirates 3 using a usb to look for defects does it have to be 1080p? Or any resolution would do? Also will the store replace the unit if ever it has the green blob, or will they replace it?

ako kasi sir naging comparison ko yung lg led na 6200 series ba un.. and fast 5 movie material, on my observation lamang ang trumotion ng lg compared sa intelligent frame creation ng pana, pero still andun pa din yung motion interpolation effect ng vt30, if walang ka side by side comparison, kitang kita pa din yung ifc effect

i think even an SD material can capture those green blobs, ang habol lang naman dun sa crab scene is yung white surroundings.. dun kitang kita pag my green na patch sa screen.

So puedeng tester yung movies like The Grey, Whiteout, Frozen Planet, among other movies with lots of white and gray?

IFC on the VT - kung baga sa halik, sa pisngi lang.   ;D

You can use the AVSHD709 test materials.  Marami un.. whites, grays...etc.

I used the mp4 version when testing my unit.

Walang data diyan sir.  Chambahan lang.  You really need to eyeball the unit yourself.

OK lang yon, marami na ring owners dito ang nagsabing green blob-free ang TV nila.
