If Balkman was there i think Petron has a chance in making into the semis.
Henry Simms played too much on the outside, settling for jump shots where other imports would have drove in. He may have been a good fit for the team, allowing Junmar Fajardo to play more minutes at the center spot while he played four. Unfortunately, what the team needed was a go-to-guy during clutch moments.
Though Petron is made up of superstars, they do not have a point guard in the mold of a Jimmy Alapag, Jason Castro, LA Tenorio or JV Casio who would not be afraid to take the crucial shots when needed. Cabagnot can play great for almost the whole game but come crucial moments simply disappears.
Petron does not have a two, three or four in the mold of a James Yap, Mark Caguoia, Gary David, Cyrus Baguio or even Macmac Cardona who demand the ball come crucial time. These players can drive to the hoop or hit the three when left alone. These players are slashers, shooters and scorers rolled into one. Santos, Washington, Lutz, Lassiter, Tubid, Yeo do not fit the mold.
Unless Petron finds someone the other players would be willing to play second fiddle to, or learn to play team ball like RoS, or learn to trust each other like the way TnT players trust in each other, (Alaska is starting to show the same trust), they would always find it difficult to finish games even when leading by large margins.
