Medyo nahimasmasan na. Am now waiting for the inevitable price markdown of the LG 55LM7600. It can be had for P89K cash to date, but hopefully mas mababa na by the time I finally decide to make the jump next year ;-)
Going 3D, at last! (And I don't care it it's a fad.)

Nakakairita lang yung brand name nito sakin. It's too similar to SONY, right down to the font.

its 55"
imho i was also tempted to buy coby when i saw it on display..

@43k.. its less than half the price of branded led tvs..

i have Mag and AOC televisions... not branded but.. wala naman ako nakikita difference nito sa LG at toshiba namin sa house.. same lang po..

being branded... maaaring asahan natin mas tatagal buhay nito.. but hindi din po maguguaranty na mas mahaba buhay ng generic sa branded..

i have friends na bumili ng samsung plasma 50... madami po nagka problema.. yung isa buti nasira 1 week bago mag 1 year.. kung hindi goodbye nadin siguro yun..
tv now a days are disposable... and mabilis po may bagong model na lalabas na.. unlike noon.. naalala ko sony tv namin when i was 5 years old.. nasa bahay pa namin until when i was 20..

may nagkwento po sakin(nalimot ko na exact amount.. but kwento ko nalang estimates).. bumili siya tv.. i forgot the brand... but
50" daw 1st tv niya parang bili niya was 300t...
then after ilan years nasira... repair daw quoted was sa repair was 80k so he got bnew 50inch uli at 100k
then after ilan years uli.. nasira repair cost was 30k so he got a new tv for 50k
all tvs he bought were branded.. nalimot ko na.. parang may samsung may lg

kaya for me.. if hindi brandconcious.. panalo po coby..
Yup ala na ata sa brand-brand lately bcoz of tight competition. Un panasonic ph9 plasma binili ko nung late2009 kasi professional series tsaka made in japan after 1 1/2 years na madalang gamitin nagkaroon ng mga violet lines.  :'(

yes or no? I'd say no. for 50k, you could get the excellent Samsung 51E550 51" Full HD 3D Plasma TV. ;)

for 30-35k, you could get a 40" Samsung LED TV, you can also get a 50" plasma tv (HD-Ready, not Full HD) for around that amount too. ;)

No for me ... 51-inch Samsung Plasma na lang ... not sure with Coby's quality, but you have to think of after-sales service - meron ba silang service center locally?
Marantz NR1200, MartinLogan Motion 20 digital audio setup, and Sony A80J

Haier should probably not be in this league ... this is a huge company and have a major share on appliances sold worldwide, di lang sila focused dito sa Pinas ... I was actually surprised that they were no. 1 worldwide on appliance sales around 4 years ago

It not just being number one for me but i'm looking more on the after sales kasi ang hirap ata ng 42 inch pataas pag di home service ang after sales service nila. Yung tipong pag may problema dadalhin mo lagi sa service center nila.

Two years ago, I bought a Coby LCD pero yung 19-inch lang. I found it annoying kaya dinala ko ulit sa Electronics Boutique sa Shangrila. We tested three units before I gave up.

So, up/down then right instead of the usual up/down then OK (middle button). Nakakaloka!

Well, hopefully, hindi ganito ang experience sa bigger units nila like this 55-inch LED.

everybody here wants to bring an HDTV back home that has new technology incorporated on the set such as 24p/1080P(for bluray movies), micro dimming to make contrast improve and then lastly the anti-judder feature. Every major tv brand has its own patented technology in each of these features that i mention above. Now ask yourself if your Coby LED TV has its own patented tech.? Im pretty sure this Coby is using an old tech where the patent is not exclusive anymore lets say an old techology. use by sony or samsung 10yrs. ago.For me i'll go for major tv brands para ewas sakit ulo...lol..
